Any suggestions??? Chris M has suggested the Filly Inn...and a few people at Thursday's meet came up with The Chestnut Horse at Easton.... I don't really know the area that well so any feedback/suggestions from you lot will be greatly appreciated!

Good reports of Chestnut Horse, don't know The Filly. The Churchill at Portsdown Hill was also mentioned (go before the summer tourists arrive?)
Cart & Horses at Kingsworthy (N. Winchester) White Horse at Ampfield, The White Swan at Mansbridge (sit beside the R Itchen), The Mayfly at Chilbolton (sit beside the R Test) also have good reputations.
Lots of choices, all we need is a decision!!

Well, the decision is 'yours'! The White Horse at Ampfield has an awesome menu.....just looked at it's website. The Churchillian has fabulous views....

(Unhelpfully) We could always do a pubcrawl around all of them ;o)
For my money the Chestnut Horse which I pass/visit at least twice a week, though pleasant, would be packed on a sunday lunch and if you didn't get 'the big table'(which isn't very big)would leave mini groups dotted about all over the place and inside is very 'sunday lunchey'. I would love a New Forest venue before the crowds(caravans) block all roads there - The Trusty Servant at Minstead springs to mind( and there is a trout lake just over the back Andie!!!!!!!) However as I am due to be playing cricket over the road at the Flowerpots in Cheriton on the 29th can I propose that as a very good venue. It has good routes to and from, a huge car park and seating both in and out. Thats my input then. Thanks all for thursday, the customary fine evening - and the Mrs approves!

;D As the introducee (is there such a word??) of the Churchillian, I vote that one!
**Afterthought** - first time round i lived 10 miles away, I now live 45 miles - bum!
second thoughts - i vote the Beech Arms at Oakley (lots of bendy B roads to get there!)
Nige ;D

Guys...you decide where you want to go and we'll take it from there. I don't know any of the pubs that way so best if you do the choosing. I'm really up to my eyes at the moment with revision for next week's exam and had yet another garage look at Aphrodite today and say 'no idea luv, could be your diff...' so not particularly enamoured with my car right now. Would appreciate you guys deciding on where you want to visit re Sunday lunch, let me know whether they take bookings and I'll do the emailing etc. Thanks guys... x

OK folks, lets make a decision.
Flowerpots in Cheriton it is - meet about 11:30 to 12:00 hours Sunday 29 April!
Charles, as you claim it as your local, would you pop in (as if you need an excuse) and check they are happy to accommodate us and see if they will reserve an area for us to eat, drink and be merry.
Could be 30 to 40 people if the increased attendance at the last evening meet is anything to go by. SCRR is really taking off!
Look forward to seeing everyone there.

Sorry to hear Aphrodite is not well. Perhaps you can turn on the charm so that certain 'experts' turn up on 29th equipped with some axle stands etc. and they can then have a proper look for you?! Results not guaranteed......................
In the meantime concentrate on your exams, and good luck from us all.
