Great Lunch meet, but not impressed with the menu at The Flowerpots. Still the company more than made up for any disappointment in the menu.
Good to see so many new attendees, especially those that came a considerable distance - hope to see you all again soon! Loved the hoops Ian - my wallet is just aching to empty itself at the MGF Centre!
Sympathise with your Dorset/Hampshire problem Andie, but with a widespread area such as SCRR there is always going to be a tendency to meet in the centre of the area to satisfy as many members as possible. This unfortunately seems to fall in mid/west Hampshire. The alternative is to meet alternately in Mid/East Hampshire and Mid/West Dorset and pi$$ off 50% of the Membership 50% of the time!! Catch 22! Doesn't worry me as I am in approximately the mid point, but I understand the feelings if those in the N, E and W points of the area.
I am not keen on the alternative of having two meets at opposite sides of the area on the same date as this would be divisive and could eventually result in a split of the SCRR. Unity and compromise would be a much better way forward.
Problems, problems!! Which is why we rely on the wise council and leadership of our Area Rep!!
Charles has been very reticent on the result of the cricket, do we assume that his team lost? Sorry we couldn't come and watch Charles, as had been our intention, but family matters intervened.
