Andie, though I like the idea of 'groupies', being old fashioned we call them 'tea ladies ' and then watch them all run away!

I have played for both teams, so predict this to be reasonably friendly sunday afternoon stuff, played as God, via English shepherds, invented it. Not the ghastly souless intercontinental warfare, routinely won by ruthlessly overfocussed convicts. (Come on Sri Lanka!) The pub remains open all afternoon and there will be a car park excitingly full of Fs having tyres kicked in an appreciative sort of way. Sheer nectar Jeeves. Any remaining stragglers can marvel at my thermo-nuclear headlights weaving off much later.

Charles, I'd just like to point out that I am sticking with the description of 'groupie'....I'm far too special to be called a tea lady, and to me it sounds....well....just so wrong!!!!! I do hope that the headlights are not contributing to global warming!!! LIST Alistair and Carol Andie B Charles Simeon James C Sally and John Iain Ross Hadyn (Gerfknuckle) Graham and Marie Bob Norma Ian (zilla) with his SO Simon (Stampy) Kate - possible? Kris F - possible?

Will Aphrodite be requiring the axle stands, Groupie? I can bring them, but may be engaged elsewhere rather than getting grubby underneath. You might be able to find vounteers on the day though! (titter) On the more 'family' subject of natural phenomena, we might well see the first swifts in this part of the world on sunday, swallows and house martins having been around for a while. Sadly no Buffys yet.......

No axle stands required, Charles...Aphrodite is being looked at again next Saturday. I hate to let anyone down but I am currently in the midst of a dilemma....my 13 year old son has been chosen to play in a rugby sevens tournament tomorrow...and I am feeling terribly torn.

Just to let you know that I won't be there today. I am sorry. As much as I love the world of the SCRRs and seeing you all, family wins every time. I will be attending the Rugby Sevens tournament and will be watching through my fingers whilst my 13 year old son gets bruised and bashed and winded all in the name of sport and for the glory of North Dorset Rugby Club! I do hope that you have a fabulous day...have a drink for me and...enjoy the cricket! xxx

Neither will I, without Andie to provide a pit stop halfway it's too damn far to drive there and back in one day.
Have a nice day and I hope you thrash the opposition Charles!

Shame Andie, but at least you have your priorities right. James will miss out as I had arranged to take Willow to the lunch in my capacity as 005, but have now cancelled and will take Carol instead (if i can get her away from staining the summerhouse - she is currently a bright shade of red ceder!) We will miss you both, but look forward to seeing you at the next meet. Alistair PS Andie: Whatever your inclination, it is NOT a requirement that you join the first team in the communal bath after the match!

Great meet; and how lucky to catch the topless takeaway young buffy waitress finals as well. Sorry to miss you James - save that petrol for the next one. More new faces, it was great to see all of you a bit(OK, read it sympathetically, it is meant well!). There was also an F crew that left having not been sat around our tables, sorry not to have met you if you read this. After some enthralling cricket(nobody knows differently) and several cuckoos but no swifts, there was also a very pretty white MPi that showed up in the evening from not far away. I am quite taken with white, both for F and TF as Norma's was looking very tidy at lunch. They were quite a rare colour option. I hope your 7s turned out well Andie, how was the bath? PS where are we thursday 10th May? Mayfly? Cheesey something near southampton?(check with Paula and 005)? Bob has Abingdon business then, so presents early apologies for missing it. I have had a lovely MG enhanced summer's day in April. Thanks to all contributors. ;o)

Thoroughly enjoyed it. One of the barmaids was very pretty too. ;D
Nice to meet some new people, and put faces to names. Sorry I was so late getting there, I rather missed the lunch, but the pork steak bap made up for it...
What a friendly bunch!

Glad to see that everyone enjoyed lunch and that the cricket was suitably enthralling. The sevens tournament was really great, thanks Charles. We spent the whole day chilling out with friends, laying in the sun drinking icy-cold cider and laughing! Jake scored a couple of tries (proud mummy moment!) but ended up coming off during the second half of the semi-final after damaging a leg muscle in a tackle. Excellent day! ;D Re the next meet - Thursday 10th - Chris has started a new thread. Not sure where we'll end up but, please note everyone, the SCRR equally covers Dorset AND Hampshire, not just Hampshire.....I feel that it's all very one-sided at present re choice of location and that needs to be rectified.
