We left Bormio to The National Davos for a good night. Ann flew home from Zurich on Monday whilst I recovered the car (and coffee machine) to UK on Tuesday. 649 Miles + Eurotunnel in 12 hours. A total trip of 2400 Miles in 13 days. One of many highlights was a trip up the St Bernard Pass to see the dogs. Yes, they are still there in excellent condition. The Swiss set up a charity to 'buy' the dogs from the Monks and ensure their future. www.fondation-barry.ch. This is named after 'Barry' who was one of the most famous dogs. Many thanks to Tim for his excellent planning (and hotel choices) and to those who joined us for a most enjoyable NTM. Ann & Geoff F.

Sounds like a fab time was had by all...I so loved the idea of making my own way to the Natter and would have loved to have joined you but circumstances did not permit it.
Great photos, Bob...!

I thought we did 1400 miles? Must be all that shunting around in car parks and wide berths on the hairpins that made up the extra. Yeap checked the car and it was 1906 miles. Checked it in Autoroute and its 1868 (doesn't allow for the couple of bits where I went wrong...) Anyway I've sorted out some photo's I'll apologise for the lack of MGF content before any one complains, as I didn't have a MGF handy to take photo's of.... I've also limited the "mountain shots" so it doesn't just look like my holiday snaps!! neil-sutton.fotopic.net/c1379851.htmlHere's what it was all about : -

Neil just seeing that picture brings back happy memories. we got back over the weekend having "only" covered 1700 miles Car behaved impeccably wife less so insisting on buying new handbag clothes etc in Bellagio. she would have bought more but car was full to the brim maybe the Caterham wasn't quite so mad after all no room for new clothes in one of them. Great trip how do we top that next year?

What a great trip! After an overnight stay in Dover we caught the ferry and
Day 1 - drove as far as Metz in France where we stayed in a first class Ibis Hotel. Day 2 - Davos via Colmer Zurich. Great hotel plus a good natter over a few beers Day 3 - 3 Passes and on to Borimio witha lovely lunch stop at the bottom of Stelvio . Another good Natter Day 4 - Left Borimio for Garda and on the advice of the Hotel staff drove via the Pass de Gavia (2621). Supposed to be very pretty. Pretty was right, pretty scary. Most of the pass was single file with passing places not too good. Tunnels also single file, lights on and horn sounding. We were told it would save us approx 1 hour. I am sure I would take the longer route to Garda in future. Spent 3 days Lake Garda chilling out. Beautiful place. Day 8 - We left for Metz. via Bremner Pass, back into Austria, and Germany . Just about to cross the French border when we were stopped by German police for routine check. Checked car firstly for drugs then passport , log book, driving licence and insurance, all on our 'must carry' list and I am glad to say we passed. This cost us 45 minutes time but thank goodness we listened to everyones advice on what to carry and for this we say a big thank you. Day 9 - We left a day early for the ferry home due to one sick female - I thought the mountain air was supposed to be wonderful for ones health! We met some new people, enjoyed all their company and had a wonderful time. Here's to the next 'NATTER'

An excellent trip Simon. But after the Brenner Pass to Innsbruck, did you turn right for 14 Miles to the Swarovski Glass Factory and Museum at Wattens, An excellent place to cure altitude sickness and lighten your wallet. Geoff F.

Yes, Lucky it was during half-time for the Rugby. Repeat at 7.00 PM Wednesday. I am sure that we recognised some of those rocks. Geoff F.

[[/quote Well you may have done. We kept getting stopped in the corners by a dawdling blinged-up Nissan Bluebird. Good in a straight line but not so in the twisty bits! Agree rubbish in the 1st gear hairpins (more to do with the driver not wanting to break his car), totally awesome everywhere else
