To follow John's preference to keep Chat away from the plans. I found that the Hotel Reservation Agency did not function, whilst at the same time I do not like to use agencies but prefer to go direct. With an Agency reservation, you may have a room, with a Hotel E-Mail, then you will have a room. I learnt this many years ago in the days of Telex. www.national-davos.chwww.baitadeipini.comGeoff F.

Any gossip from anyone? (apart from "I won't be in the F" ;D) Guess we're in the "Everything's in place" phase? Do we need to decide a venue?

Everything in place !!!! If only - I have now managed to book the hotel in Davos and Bormio but am still trying to work out the tour down and the route back and need to book the ferries - so there's a little more to do yet !
As per this event we always like to know how other people are getting on and what routes they are planning so let us know !
If there are any single drivers wanting to head down and are a bit wary about driving alone then post here and see if you can meet up with some more like minded eFFers and maybe you can go together.
However and whatever you do - keep us updated as it's part of the fun of this event.

Get yourself fitted for a set of made to measure ear plugs.
Several companies make them, often from moulds taken by a friendly local hearing aid company.

Following on from TimM's suggestion :
I am considering participating in this event, and because of the meeting venue, I am able to make use of accommodation that I use regularly for other holidays. Also, being a single occupant vehicle, my plan is to take a gentle three days to get to Davos, and a similar three days to get home from Bormio, with just one day "playing with the Fer's" (i.e. outward ferry Wed AM, return Tue PM).
To this end, is there anyone out there who would like to join me for all or part of the holiday ? I am thinking, primarily, of any other one-up vehicles, although, of course, anyone else who wishes to join in would be most welcome.
My first and last stops will be with friends on the Mosel River in Germany. The village are having a wine festival the same weekend, and accommodation here is essentially fully allocated.
My second and penultimate stops will be at a hotel just outside Interlaken in central Switzerland. It is a 37 room, family run establishment, with plenty of secluded car parking. It is conveniently situated for the relatively easy runs to Davos and from Bormio.
My "tried and tested" routes to and from Switzerland are mostly motorway, and are easily accomplished in daylight hours. There is scope for one or two deviations to relieve the "motorway monotony".
Friday's journey to Davos would include as many passes as can be accomplished (minimum 4). Sunday's return journey to Interlaken is planned to take in a minimum of 5 passes ! The very nature of the road system means that most of the mountain passes are unavoidable !
The hotel near Interlaken does have a website - details on request.
Note : I am NOT offering a hotel booking service, neither am I wanting to act as "run leader" - I simply want to make my prospective plans known so that other "lost souls" may consider getting together at some time either side of the Natter.
Post your comments/suggestions, or contact me at kevin@courtyard.co.uk (this is a company e-mail account; don't expect a reply at weekends !).

Four door saloons need not apply. So I could bring a 2 door Impreza ?? I know someone with a stripped out Type RA which has even less luggage space that a door-less foot burner.. All you've got to do is memorise this : youtube.com/watch?v=uonsBvmXkq0
