There's a nasty rumour that I might actually make this... Rather strangely, it might be quite nice to meet up with you again.

Likewise John! I'm still feeling a little sheepish about the whole Natter That Matters idea bearing in mind Neil and I suggested the whole thing last year then failed to materialise Fact is my car was awaiting repair at the time. It was all a bit touch-and-go whether it'd be ready or not and in the end it was more "touch" and less "go" and I had to resign myself to not going, having encouraged everyone else to make the effort. Better luck this year although ermmm.....if I do make it, it'll be a whole two days before I'm due to depart to Morocco for three weeks in the Landrover. That said, I'm already one step closer. The F is now out of my garage where it's been residing for (unbelievably) the last 12 months. I didn't re-tax it last Autumn as I wanted to keep it off the road for winter, then when it came to renewing it in the Spring I was just too busy to envisage using it (just been to Afghanistan don't yer know!) so I let it sit until I was in a position to use it again.....which is now. ;D

Morocco / Afghanistan you seem to like sand. Try to keep it away from the nethers. Hope to see you in Angouleme.

John, I'm taking the F, as it'll be a lot cheaper on fuel than the Scoob !!! (Also gives you a change to keep up.... LOL) Think I might miss the air-con and climate control though

I've just booked a open return booking with Speed Ferries on a special offer they have running until the 21st Aug.
£54 return Dover Boulogne and I can decide what days i want to go out and travel back in a week or so's time...
If anyone else is thinking of this route you just make a outward and return booking for the 25 DEC and this gives you a open Superticket you can change the travel date FOC when you know when you want to go.

Daft question, but am I right in thinking this is the current list of F-ers heading for Angouleme (with apologies to anyone I've inadvertently left off): John & Lyn P Mike H and Mrs H TimM & Liz Adrian & Dawn Neil S Stu Simon Young Cannonball Bob - Possible Steve S ? Incidentally, the Circuit des Remparts Classic Car Races were advertised in todays motoring supplements. If anyone missed it, this is an excellent site: www.circuit-des-remparts.com/ , if your French is up to it. I could only see that one page was available in English ;D
