Another Euro trip ! Don't worry this ones not until September ! BUT it coincides with the Circuit des Remparts in Angouleme so you'll need to book hotel rooms early. The Natter will take place on Saturday 16th Spetember at the Hotel Mercure in Angouleme. As with last years event how you get there is up to you but the main thing is to meet up at the appointed time for the "natter". With the added attraction fo the racing through the town over the weekend this should be an excellent weekend. Book hotel here.... www.mercure.com and use Code 0397 for the hotel. There's a web page about the event here www.mgcars.org.uk/runnymede-mgoc/mgpitfiles/ramparts/angouleme06.htmand updates will appear on that as well as here. On the list so far John & Lynn Mike & Jan Tim & Liz Will it grow ..........?

As suspected this one is booking up fast - the Hotel Mercure seems to be fully booked now - we are seeking alternative accomodation. Once we do you'll need to book in pretty rapidly !
Watch this space ....
However anyone that is interested PLEASE indicate here or e-mail us at events@mgfregister.org

On the same site as the Angouleme Merure Nord is the Hotel Ibis and the formule 1. I have booked something totally different however by mistake !! The Mercure Angouleme Hotel de france in the Place des Halles Centrales - A little more expensive and a bit more upmarket at 121 euros per night but in the middle of town and with a private underground car park. Should be ideal for watching the racing ! Book through Planigo at www.francehotelnetwork.com

OK - forget that - now on Plan C and booked into the Campanile on Route Royale as the Mercure was full up as well !. However campanile is confirmed and they should have some more spaces if you're quick !
Time to stop thinking about this one and get it booked now - hotel spaces in Angouleme are disappearing rapidly !!

Changed my booking now to the Ibis as well from Thursday to Sunday - Are we still planning the run to Cognac on Friday John ?
I've still got a booking at the Campanile at the moment if anyone wants it ? I'll be cancelling that if there are no takers in the next day.
List so far
John & Lyn - booked Mike & Jan - booked Tim & Liz - booked Neil David & Barbara
If anyone else wants to join us then you'll need to get the hotel booked in Angouleme very soon or there will be no space left.

Neil
If you think of staying for the race day on Sunday you will need another night (or leave about 7.00 pm for a very late ferry). IMO the racing is the best part of the weekend and there are some excellent photo opportunities around the circuit and in the 'pits'.

OK - better get in on this thread!
We're also booked into the Ibis. Our outline itinerary is: Portsmouth - Caen previous weekend, La Rochelle area 3 nights; Angouleme 4 nights; Loire valley 1 night; return Caen - Portsmouth.
Hope it's as good a weekend as Monaco 2005!

PS for Tim - I've bought my snow dome already this year ;D ;D ;D

John, I assumed Race was on Saturday..... Just booked another night, but IBIS internet site wouldn't let me amend my original one so I've just made a reservation for Sunday night as well.
The Racing was the thing that got me interested....

Should eb a good weekend with loads iof classic cars to see and take pictures of as well as Brandy !
Must be some more people tempted by now - so don't delay find out more today before it's too late !

Just a nudge on this one - Don't continue to think about it - you really do need to book the Hotel ibis in Angouleme Nord as soon as possible - This is a busy weekend thanks to the racing and should male a pretty interesting one for us in addition to the natter.
I'm sure there's another one or two who can make it - this is doable in a long weekend or take a longer break if you fancy.
If you find the hotels all booked up then let us know - we may be able to offer an alternative B&B just outside the town.
Book the hotel and let us know at .... events@mgfregister.org
