Hi I have fitted to my F the scorpion with new downpipe /manifold etc .... I wanted a sports exhaust sound and im really pleased with it.....as it is "quite" suttle ....the best thing i found was to listen to another car fitted with the exhaust you are after...then decide...There are many opinions and you only can decide i found....its all down to personal taste.... I did find a website with several sound bites of several exhausts but can not find it anymore... can anyone else help? I know mgfsue has a sound bite of the scorpion on her website.... regards Jon lee

thats if you can find it.. the TT has been out of production for a while The main ones are Xpower, JanSpeed Milltek and Daytona.... with the latter too being the most popular. I would go with the Daytona, as I consider the Milltek noise a bit too "chavvy"

Depends what you want really, noise or torque
Daytona gives the best torque figuresand best torque spread.

Hi Andy. ;DI've just fitted the stainless exhaust from moss to my mgf 18i vvc it's made by Miltek with upswept DTM tailpipes. I've taken the cat off and fitted the bypass. It's very loud when putting your foot down and fairly quiet when idling. I think if you don't want it too loud don't buy this one, athough it might be quieter if I refitted the cat. But I can't get the smile off my face. I think I'm a forty year old chav.

I went to Longlife Exhausts (google them) who build a stainless system to your requirements based on a mild, mid or mega sound spec. I went for mild on my TF, as recommended by a SWMGFer. Good choice in my opinion as anything else is for the hard of hearing or chav! IMHO
55 different tail pipe finishes available! 56 if you count me having one pair of a set of large square quads bisected to achieve a single large square finisher on either side (to fit the quads required rear bumper and heat shield modifications).
Can't be too bad as another member of SCRR (Bob) has since been to them for a system for his F. He has round quad finishers which look and sound superb.
Reasonable noise level at lower rev band with nice and deep rumble, but floor the throttle and boy, oh boy ...............
NB: Bob achieved a 10% discount for MGCC membership, but they refused him a further 10% for MGOC membership. Nice try!!!

you pays your money and makes your choice!
Most of the racing ones I've seen seen to use the Miltek DTM upswept pipes.
I'm told (by ex MG Sport n Racing guy) that the factory backed racing ones used ITG induction kit, and that the std manifold was good enough!

If you want the F to sound as it 'should', you can't do worse than a Scorpion. Just a nice sporty sound which is not unbearable on motorways but gives a nice sound sporty sound - just as the F should sound
If however you want something more 'noticeable', head turning and raucous with a lot of popping and spitting, then try a Milltek, Daytona, Phoenix, TT or similar. There are several 'experts' around who are probably best to advise on *noisy* exhausts ;D ;D ;D
See also Colin's post above to come and hear some.....

I am biased but i would have to say a Miltek it sounds great when you want it to but is refined so it is not a constant drone when on the motorway also it is a true quad system not just a twin outlet with double finishers, the quality & fit are also superb plus mix it with an ITG induction kit and the power gains are pretty good as well ;D Well that is just my humble opinion hope it helps

I gotta admit i do like the miltek and daytona but i like to be different and the choice i have is mild/ mid or extreme so i'm gonna see if i can hear a few 1st, but the look of the finishers looks real nice and i can have practically any design i want, basically i tell them how i want it and they will make it all for £299 which is much better than £300 for a daytona then £75 for quads to go with it from M,saturs
