I gotta admit i do like the miltek and daytona but i like to be different and the choice i have is mild/ mid or extreme so i'm gonna see if i can hear a few 1st, but the look of the finishers looks real nice and i can have practically any design i want, basically i tell them how i want it and they will make it all for £299 which is much better than £300 for a daytona then £75 for quads to go with it from M,saturs Agree with you on the different bit.
I like the idea of the Daytona (Thanks Debs) power spec.
I can get my local PowerFlow to make me up one but I do want the power from a tried and tested system. ;D

Most of the racing ones I've seen seen to use the Miltek DTM upswept pipes. I'm told (by ex MG Sport n Racing guy) that the factory backed racing ones used ITG induction kit, and that the std manifold was good enough! Had intended on getting an induction kit, like the idea of the foam ITG.
Standard manifold?? Need more info

I thought of bringing the Z, Decided on the F, but maybe a U turn,
(My wife invented the O turn, She made a U turn and changed her mind)
If you are taking the Z, I could bring mine for the gorge

.yeah i know the dyatona has the best torque accross the range but touching £400 for a back box is a bit steep, £300 is steep enough but at least i get to choose how it will look and not just another with a Daytona with quads

Is there any advantage in changing the manifold. Either Janspeed of the Mike S one?

no doubt some would say yes - and try and sell you a manifold! Guess it depends upon the state of tune! I wanted the XPower tuning kit fitted to my 160, but by the time I had saved enough, MG had gone through the hoop! Little did I know that MG Sport n Racing where still trading though! I found out that the manifold, sportscat and exhaust were all made by Janspeed, so off to janspeed I go! They fitted the sportscat, and the ITG induction kit, but were very puzzled when they couldn't fit their own TF manifold to my TF. So I leave janspeed £400ish better off. A few months later, I was telling the two guys at Full Throttle Racing this (both ex MG Sport n Racing) and they said that basically I had saved some money, as even the Racing TF190's kept the std manifold, as this was good enough! end of story!

I am going to see what PowerFlow has for ends

certainly the Tf160 cat is not a sportscat - not sure about the trophy - but guessing its the same! i've found ITG, sportscat and Miltek backbox (which has been on since new!) totally transormed the TF160! more tourque, peak tourque lower down the rev band, and a much smoother delivery of power / tourque right from the word go!

Yes. Yes. Yes. all I need now is a 190 engine

On my 98 VVC I have a Miltek SS and a Taipan cold air induction kit coupled to a 52mm TB. Yes it's loud when you want it to be BUT not intrusive when cruising long distances. I get lots of compliments from people behind me for the nice sound.

Is there any advantage in changing the manifold. Either Janspeed of the Mike S one? . The simple answer is.... Possibly. It all depends on the state of tune of your motor and what you intend to do with it. A lot of people in the race world will tell you that the standard manifold is good enough, but that's not the whole story, not by a long chalk! The reason they say this is because the current race series that F/TF's are eligible for restrict the cars to being almost standard. IE power output is restricted so in this respect it makes no sense to change the manifold. However, once you start tuning a K Series for serious power outputs, then yes the manifold does restrict. The after market manifolds such as the Piper (sold by Mike Satur) and the Janspeed do make a difference to torque and torque spread, the problem is, are they worth the £££? Well the answer to this is (in my view) that they are not good value for money. The reason being that the K Series likes 12" Secondary pipes for the best pulse tuning of the exhaust (although this is difficult to do with the restriction of space in a F/TF) whereas the after market manifolds limit the secondaries to about 6", and are therefore next to useless in assisting power development. My manifold is a bit of a compromise (as is always the case in engine tuning) and is purpose fabricated in that it runs shorter Primaries and longer Secondaries. When I come to put the 2L engine in we will have a rethink and see if we can get a better system made up.
