Rather than me pay for all of the ferries (phew) the on-line booking is so easy, link here : travel.norfolkline.com/Default.aspOutbound 14th June @10.00 Return (for some of us) 20th June @21.30 Cost £53.00p When asked "special needs" put very low ground clearance. So if we all travel on the same outbound ferry, you can make your choice of return (be back in time for Silverstone) ? Please keep me updated when you have booked in case the ferry fills up.

Long conversation with Kjeld this evening, what if we drive to Germany, Osnabruck area on day 1 (Wednesday) stay there.
Thursday, day 2, shorter drive to Copenhagen where we will be taken around by Kjeld and stay in a hotel he has planned for us, he meets at at the German / Danish border.
Friday on to the bridges, two, in daylight and on to meet Hakan and north into Sweden, with time for a tour of the area, nice and comfortable arrival for the evening BBQ ?

Would be OK for Rosi and me, joining on Thursday near Hamburg.

Thanks for the mail Adrian, the above sounds good to me - especially the Oresund in daylight!

Geoff, can you meet us near the junction of the E20/E45 east of Esbjerg, Thursday afternoon ?
Dieter, somewhere on the E45 for you and Rosi ?
Thanks David.

Lynn and I are now booked Outbound 14th June @10.00
Also booked for our return, Bergen to Newcastle 24 June with Fjordline.
Not sure about the 1st night stop at Osnabruck rather than Amsterdam. It make is a 475 mile leg for us, after leaving home at 6.30. This is as a direct route via Antwerp, with no diversion north towards Amsterdam. Could be a long day. Amsterdam is about 375 leg.
Why Osnabruck? Somewhere in between?
I like the revised schedule to stop overnight in Copenhagen sounds an excellent idea. It makes the journey the following morning much better and more interesting.

Tony, very open to finalisation this bit, I'm trying to even out the driving distances so we don't do too much on one day but benefit from the scenery and places of interest.
Somewhere in-between is fine, we can iron this out in time, no problem there, as long as ferries are booked then we are where we need to be at this stage.
By the way, Stephen Meek and Andre Horst will meet us for the Danish drive, they are staying with Kjeld and his friends to watch LeMans 24hr on TV.

Adrian,
Great - we are thinking along the same lines.
Good to hear Stephen and Andre are joining us as well. I had a feeling Andre would not resist for too long. :-)

Sounds good to me - more evenly spaced drives would be best as Mrs Ms back will not be too happy with 8 hour plus solid driving !
As long as we get the same ferry ovre we still have plenty of time to iron out the Wednesday night stopover that adrian is working on.

Just had a look at mulitmap
route for me would be A Day 1 Home to Dover 90 miles Relaxing ferry trip to Dunkirk Dunkirk to Osnabruck 263miles (total 353miles)
Day2 Osnabruck > Copenhagen 344miles
Day3 Copenhagen > Falkenberg via bridge 139 miles
= 836miles
B The other way stopping at Amsterdam Addlestone > Dover 90miles Dunkirk > Amsterdam 156 miles Amsterdam > Copenhagen 491 miles !! Copenghagen > Falkenberg via bridge 139miles = 876 miles
Option A seems much better and is 40 miles shorter !
Incidentally Norfolk Lines Dover to Dunkirk at 10am is £29 one way !
