This annual event is shared by the regions, next year it is the turn of the South Centre, which is good for us, therefore with this in mind I am planning a visit to this event.
I don't think I need to emphasise the beauty of the area and the nature of the people you will meet on this event.
I'm sure over the months more will be written about this event and the options open to visitors, either drive or ferry, stay on after or come straight home.
I will start it off with this :
Dawn and I will drive to Holland to meet up with Daphne and Hajo, maybe others on the Wednesday (14th) we will meet up with anybody from Germany on the way, maybe Dieter, Andre and Stephen. At the Danish border Kjeld will meet us and take us across the Oresund bridge where Hakan will join us for the run to Helsingborg and on the Falkenberg for the Friday evening gathering and BBQ.
The road run is on Saturday and evening meal together, then on Sunday the final day of the event with the concours meeting.
This is the message from Hakan (our rep in Sweden) to give you an idea :
Distance.
We had 900 km one way from De Emhof (where the European event of the year was held back in June, it is close to Amsterdam) to Helsingborg with very good autobahn to go on so this is no problem. Falkenberg is about 90km's from Helsingborg.
When we go skiing in Italy we normally drive from Helsingborg to Ulm in
South Germany the first day and this is 1050 km
So distance 2000 km to Helsingborg from Germany is not really right?
Bridge cost is about SEK 200:- one way.(£14.00)
You pay cash or by card.
If you want to come to Helsingborg on Thursday night and we do some nice arrangements for you here a doubleroom in central hotel with safe parking
costs about SEK 1100:-/ doubleroom for 2 people including breakfast
The dinner here will cost you about 600:- / 2 persons incl.drinks
On Friday we drive north to Scandinavian MG-Meeting which will start friday night with some barbecue. We will do soem nice stops on the way.
I have been in contact with the people arranging this weekend and they are not finished with prices but they think the price will be SEK 2000:-/person.
In this price you get barbecue friday night, sleeping on hotel friday night and saturday night, breakfast saturday morning, rally saturday, lunch
saturday, dinner saturday night, breakfast sunday morning and please note no drinks including on friday and saturday night dinner
Here we must apply in january/february as there are maximum 100 cars who
can participate I will take care of all this details,no problems.
After concour de charme sunday afternoon we are free to do what you want to do.
You can go home via Denmark/Germany or you take ferry from Gothenburg to UK
Please consider above and I hope this can help you informing all MGF:s who wants to join the Scandinavian Tour 2006
All the best

As you can see there is going to be a rush for places for this event, the opportunity will not be around for a number of years to go again without driving further into this large country to one of the other regions, so if you are interested please let me know so I can pass on your details to Hakan so our places can be reserved.
Lastly, at the moment £1 = 14 Swedish Kroner / 100 SEK = £7.07p
