Looking at reviews for AutoRoute, it looks as though version 2006 is required to get good road coverage for Norway. Can anybody confirm this? Plus I hear that the AutoRoute 2006 will have voice navigation!!

OK, this means more oxygen, higher performance. What else ;D
I would love to visit that region, but I am still unsure if we're available in that period. More about that later.

Ok _I'm now seriously tempted - but this would mean three busy weeks of travelling - London to Sweden to London to Silverstone to London to Auvergne to London ! Three weekends of MG stuff on the trot - will JayPeG stand up to all the miles? ....will I stand up to all that driving ?.... will Mrs M actually allow it ?

Thanks Tim, that explains the bounced emails.
I was wondering if there are any more details regarding the tour, i.e. route, hotels, participants, etc. We want to possibly extend our trip and need more info asap to base it around.

Thanks Tim, sorry about the E Mails Tony but I am up and running again house move over.
I shall be working on this now with some gusto, I am so looking forward to this one, it's been 30 years since I drove all the way to the top of Sweden, although we are not going that far this time. My 1995 trip only went as far as Gothenberg but it felt as if the country hadn't changed, although cars and traffic had !
Whilst on the subject, can we have an update on attendees, I have had a few more people showing interest and I would like to help Kjeld and Hakan with their plans for us.
As it stands we are departing the UK on Wednesday 14th June stopping in Holland and picking up Dutch and possibly Belgian cars.
Thursday on to Denmark collecting German cars and a short scenic tour of southern Sweden staying overnight in Helsingborg via the magnificent Oresund bridge.
Friday on the way to the event starting with the evening BBQ.
The event finishes on Sunday and we depart for home or continue into Norway for a short visit on Monday, so far :

Adrian,
Just to ensure no confusion, and if the last couple on that list is us, Lynn has no 'e' on the end of her name. :-)

>Germany >Dieter & Rosi count us in !! ) Didn't see anything about applications on the www.mgcc.se site. Shouldn't we start ordering accomodations, ferry, etc. ?

Hi Dieter, I'm on it this week.
I'll organise UK - Holland, Daphne will take it on to North of Germany, I'll let you and Kjeld take it from there and Hakan take it from Sweden.
I'll write to all individually, how about that ?
There was some interest from Belgium too, I'll check with them.
I'll ask Hakan about booking the event today also.

As you may have seen on the Kempenrit thread, the Eurotunnel train service is quite expensive,at £123.00 return, so I propose to use the Norfolk Line ferry, 2 hours from Dover to Dunkerque. Incidentally brand new ferries in use this year, we may get one, who knows.
Ferries depart at 10.00, 12.30, 14.45, 17.00 and 18.45 and return at 14.30, 16.45, 19.30, 21.30 and 23.30.
Cost is £29.00 out and back, except the 21.30 and 23.30 which are £24.00, therefore £58.00 or £53.00 depending on your choice.
I fancy the 12.30 departure with the 21.30 return, any other ideas or views ?
We travel on Wednesday the 14th to the Amsterdam area where accomodation is being arranged and we meet up with Daphne and Hajo (and others maybe because this event is being advertised on the Dutch and Belgian forums also).
Thursday sees us travel to Copenhagen, about 520 miles, meeting Dieter, Rosi and Kjeld on the way, we then cross the magnificent 20km (12 mile) long Oresund bridge to Malmo in Sweden, where Hakan meets us for a short 50 mile run through scenic roads to Helsingborg, where a hotel waits for the night ( approx £78.00 double incl. breakfast and secure parking).
Friday morning Hakan takes us on a scenic route to Falkenberg for the start of the event, the evening BBQ.
The event itself is on the Saturday and Sunday and costs about £140.00 per person, this includes Friday and Saturday night hotel, Friday night BBQ, Saturday and Sunday breakfast, Saturday lunch, parking and rally plates etc.
The return route will be similar, we will leave the event Sunday evening, heading south, for an overnight stop, being arranged, before Monday's drive to the Amsterdam area, then after one more night we drive home on Tuesday.
These other hotels are being arranged, as soon as I have the details I will pass them on, of course, you are free to plan your own route either way or stay as long as you like, if you need any assistance in planning this, please let me know.
The event booking will soon open, your names, if here, will be entered immediately as, it is likely, it will fill up.
So far :
