Just been looking at routes on my version of Auto Route............
END USER LICENSE AGREEMENT FOR MICROSOFT SOFTWARE. Streets and Trips 2004 AutoRoute 2004 MapPoint 2004
Roads in Norway do not seem to exist ! Anybody know which version does have them ?

Tony, There are some plans in the pipe line to extend this trip into Norway staying at hunting lodges, even a few days (up to 10) touring in the area, with Kjeld, who you met at the Porridge Pot, leading.
He even suggests a run up to the Arctic Circle. At this time there will be almost 24hr daylight, I have some pictures of these lodges, numbers will be limited.
I'll keep you informed how this develops.

Mid of June is still cold in Norway. From experiance I would choose July/August. Much traffic from Tourists is in July though.

Looking at reviews for AutoRoute, it looks as though version 2006 is required to get good road coverage for Norway. Can anybody confirm this?

My Michelin road map says 1976, the last time I drove up to the Circle, do you think I should get a new one

Tony, now could be a good time to buy that Garmin 2610 (or the current model). Mapsource tracks the E6 to the junction with 94 up to Hammerfest. Much beyond that will need a snomobile.

John, Sounds like a good idea, but the way prices are dropping, maybe I'll wait untill the New Year. Besides, funds are a bit low right now - off to Goa for 2 weeks this evening. ;D ;D ;D ;D

It is many years since I last visited Sweden but I seem to remember that mid summer was fine PLUS the benefit of the very long days although it is even better if you go further north!
