MG era Day opens at 10am on Sunday 1st April. Entry is £8 per person. If you bring an MG you need to enter by the Brooklands Road entrance and NOT the new public one by Mercedes Benz World. You will then be allowed to park on the museum site with the rest of us. The F Register will have the stand and a couple of TFs on show celebraing TF5. This year is also Brooklands Centenary year and it would be nice to have a good showing of F/TFs as well as the other models to mark this.
There is no pre booking - just turn up.
It may be possible to drive the test hill although it is dependent on demand and is limited in numbers - older cars may take preference but several of our people took their Fs up it last year -just bear in mind that we can't guarantee that.
As it's TF5 we may be able to get permission to take a group on the banking for a photo session - I shall make enquiries and let you know.
Mercedes Benz World will also be open and is well worth going out the back and taking a look around but make sure you get a pass out so you can get back in again !
You may be able to access their bit of old track BUT it is a staff parking area and we nearly got thrown out last year (even though we had permission) when we parked there as a group so they might not take kindly to loads of F/TFs turning up !! If we can't get a group photo op then , as Adrian says, a word with the marshalls may prove fruitful.
Anyhow - it should be another good day out - chance to look around Concorde, usual museum exhibits, forumla one exhibition etc etc and MBW across the way with the Mclaren SLR and every Mercedes model on show plus a historical section and interactive displays .If you're feeling a bit flush you can even take a test drive on their track and skid pan in a Mercedes.
