On Sunday we had our first super sprint of the year at Sandown Raceway, the weather was cold, damp, wet and then the sun came out tried to dry the track then cold, damp you get the picture. Compared to a year ago my lap times were some 6seconds slower and my final lap plus another .60 after a rather nice pirouette in the center of the track as you start the main straight, I was really trying. Adam who usually writes about speed events has put his TF up for sale so was using his racing MG B which was just as well as he'd spun and touched the safety barrier. This was the first sprints of three we are doing over the next few months including the very fast Phillip Island. I am waiting to see if there are any pictures of my spin which I will post if available.

I was well and truly trying that weekend, and chasing Stephen White in his MGF helped me to lower my PB in that car by almost 1.5 secs. That run was the dryest of the day and still very scary going into turn 9, a more than 90 degree bend. It was very hard to not run the TF, it was there in the pits with a for sale sign on it. It's now sold, going to be used for club tours with an older couple, a rather different life to when it was with me.
I have some pics of your spin Andrew ;D

Well we had our next speed event, this time at Winton Raceway. This is a very tight 2.03km circuit which I haven't yet mastered, in other words my times sucked. Adam was having a ball in his MG B(1.11.93) beating Stevens quick F (1.13.64)but not as fast as Kens.(1.10.91) , the fastest time of the day. The weather was great for the whole weekend cold and crisp overnight and the sun rising early, drying out the track and staying warm but not scorching . There were four sesions with the third being a Regularity, not my favorite event so I went as hard as I could and if the four laps were close to each other in time , thats just pure luck. I had to call it a day early on our forth session due to the clutch peddle going to the floor and staying there. Ken who had transported his own car and a hot Midget swapped my car with the Midget which I drove home and he trailered mine. I am still waiting to hear about my car but we think its the pipe from the gearbox end that has fractured. On the Saturday we had a motorkhana with four patterns, F 's are not as good as a T type or a well driven Midget with a Midget taking out the top spot. A great day weather wise and a very social night followed. The next event is at Phillip Island the fastest course, I had better buy some new rear tyres in anticipation of doing better times.
PS I got my car back this afternoon,, the workshop made and fitted a new pipe, so every thing back to normal.
