G'day, just a quick Hello from a fellow MGF owner here in Melbourne Australia. We have a very active MGF register here and every meeting/event we get to, the cars always seem to turn up clean, washed and shinny.
It was a different story after the last Motorkhana event, as it was done on dry grass/dirt and there was not a clean car in sight after the event.
Anyway, cheers for now.

Welcome Branko from the F register - good to see someone reading this from down under - keep us updated with what's happening in your part of the world. Struggling to keep the cars clean up here at the moment - The F is tunring a nice shade of pink with all the salt on the roads !

And just to prove that F's are loved even further south than Oz, here is a message from New Zealand!
We have a fair number of MGF's over here, mainly thanks to used examples being imported from Japan. In fact if any of you Poms are looking for a very early F we regularly see 1995 examples with quite low mileages appearing for sale.
I have a 2005 TF160 that I bought late last year, which replaced a 1997 VVC I had owned for four years.

Hi there from me too and welcome to the forum. Always good to read stuff from further afield - we tend to get a bit insular in the UK and forget there's a great big world out there just a short hop across the channel!

Hello all from the US........I am currently a member of the Windsor- Detroit MG Club and own a 1980 MGB LTD. I am trying to obtain information on importing a used 1995 -1997 MGF to the states. Has there been anyone who has accomplished this endeavor ? I would appreciate any advice. Thank you. Dan

Hi Dan, welcome to the forum! I confess my only experience of what you propose is reading about it on another board. IIRC your problem is not simply physically importing the vehicle, but keeping it once you've got it! For instance, since there are officially no Fs in the States, you may not find an insurer who will take it on.... I also recall comment from guys in the southern States who occasionally see Fs from across the border, where they were officially imported. Sorry my post is less than well-informed; if you're not already aware of the MG Enthusiasts' BBS www2.mgcars.org.uk/cgi-bin/gen5?runprog=mgbbs I'd suggest you register there and have a look through their archive for a mine of information on all subjects (especially Bs ) Hope someone comes along with more authoritative comment; meanwhile keep us informed on progress of your scheme of infiltrating MGFs into the US! Regards, David

Well to show there is more than one F in Australia, Hi. Branko is correct there is a large and active MG membership and the moderns F, TF, ZT and ZR's are all coverd by the F register in Melbourne. So far this year we have had a super sprint at Calder Raceway a twilight event and our club concours, to get rid of all the dirt from last motorkhana. The next event is a motorkhana but in a sealed carpark. Regards Andrew

Dan , I don't know if I can help but I buy our Ambulances in the US and Canada and we have a small office in Houston. We ship across the pond 3- 4 times a year both to and from. Major repairs we ship to Nova Scotia. I have a couple of shipping contacts in the UK who may tell you if the paperwork is possible, I seem to ember its a lot easier to import to the US if the vehicle is over 10 years old. e-mail me if its helpful. Hi All, I must extend a big apology to everyone who had posted a reply to my post for which I should have replied back. I have not accessed this site for a while, but I will make amends. Floozy (Ali), thanks for your warm welcome to this part of the globe. Recently I have added a K&N filter to my F and it does sound great!! Not sure if it goes faster, but boy, what a sound. TimM, Down here we only use salt in our food. LOL. I remember when I was in UK about 21 years ago, there was salt on the roads and the first thing I though was, "won't his rust the cars?". Hmmm, I can see why you guys have loads of problems with corrosion. MikeNZ, You are spot on, F's can get very cheap in price there. A good place to look in in the www.trademe.co.nz/. Oops, sorry to let the cat out of the bag. Scarlet Fever (Andrew), You would have seen lots of my posts on the "other" site, BBS... as I have seen yours. Keep up the good info flow.. dansmg1980 (dan) Here is some info on inporting an MGF to your shores. Hope it works out for you. www.wedgeparts.com/mgfusa.htmlAndrew, Looks like you spend as much time on the PC as I do! I think my heart skipped a beat at Calder Raceway when I lost it at the back chicanes and almost got very persoanl to another driver. Tooooo close for comfort I'm afraid. Thanks all for your posts here and I hope to visit more often....till next time. Cheers, Branko

For those of you who don't subscribe to FasTForward, Branko will write regularly in there as he is our Australian contact.
Of course, if anybody is planning a holiday to Australia drop him a line, he will be more than happy to meet you if you are close enough to him, he lives in Melbourne.

Well not much to report from down under other than the only competiton event since Calder sprints has been a Motorkhana a practice round for the upcomming National MG meet being held in Tasmania over the Easter weekend . Most cars are departing by ferry tonight. I dont know how many F's are attending but from Victoria I think ten. I know not many by your standards! I am positive our official scribe will tell every one via FasTForward of his experience. So happy F'ing to every one over the Easter Holidays.
