Hey all, finally bagged me an MGF!
I'm really proud of it as it's very clean and tidy but i'd like to make a few improvements and want to keep it sparkling! So i wondered...
* What's the best way to keep it clean? I normally get my cars washed and waxed at the local hand car wash but i've been warned to avoid pressure washers altogether.
* The hood looks like it could use a little renovation to get all the 'bits' off and make it really black again. Any suggestions?

Get yourself upto our North-West meet this thursday (see NW section) there are a few owners who join us from the Wirral so you won't be alone and we will be able to give you all the advise you need about your car...

Martinos - welcome to the forum and F ownership!
Bodywork: I never get my F washed by those hand wash guys found in car parks. Always quite enjoy cleaning the F myself. I'd avoid those high-pressure jet washes as there's a good chance you'll end up with water on the inside on the car if you point it at one of the window seals. Low / medium pressure hose to start off, Meguires Gold Class or Autoglym, followed by another rinse with the hose. Then break out the polish if you're still feeling energetic.
Hood: Two main ones, Autoglym and Renovo, Autoglym being cheaper. Not used either myself but I'm sure there are a few people here who can recommend. Also if your plastic rear screen is looking scratched / cloudy use Greygate plastic polish to bring it back to life.
