Guys With the forecasted improvement in the weather for August I wondered if we should arrange a driveout for our meet that month? An example of where we could head to would be: - Duxford
- Bourton on the Water
- The Derbyshire Dales
Or take a drive to meet the E Anglia lot? Just some suggestions. What do you all think? For future meets when winter bites we could also visit shopping centres for the ladies!! Cheers Dave

Lee, Actually, it says 'No meeting scheduled'... It doesn't say no meeting at all! It's just that with MGFest on the first weekend and us all being there, I thought it best to see how the land lies afterwards before making a scheduled date. We also have a few new members who have contacted me and don't know our usual meeting place.
Dave, The idea is great, weather permitting. It wouldn't be instead of a pub meeting anyway, so I've renamed the thread to 'Suggestions for August Run' and let's see how it goes. Can't make August 18th/19th though... Doing the Snowdon Run with Dave & Carole!
The main reason we have a fixed venue pub meeting at the moment is because we're still a new region and new members are coming all the time. Therefore, it's best for them to be able to find us and introduce themselves at a regular venue. Rich.

That is fair enough Rich and I hadn't thought about the Fest being in the same month. Is the Snowdon run for a day or an overnight? Maybe some of the guys might join in and we could get "ourselves a convoy" as CW McCall said

Dave,
Snowdon Run is an over-nighter as it starts in Llandudno early in the morning. Also, it's prebooked (booked it a long while ago, hence not in SMS calender) with the Llandudno & District MGOC. They run it every year though, so we could add it to next year's diary perhaps?
Rich.

I would definitely be up for shelsy walsh as its one of the best spectator hillclimb events and haven't been this year.
Some sort of run would be good though.
By the way I haven't booked for mgfest as wasn't sure about work, can definitely make sunday now, does this mean i won't be able to park with you guys and just have to pay the tenner on the gate?

Everyone who's not camping has to pay on the gate anyway so don't worry. Just come and find our area (look for the banner). To take part in any of the activities, you'll need a MGFest pass which will be available on the day for £6 and covers up to two people. Rich.

I have a suggestion for the August meet/run......how about the 19th, the .org have a meet scheduled at the Waterman Pub, which is a lovely venue, big car park, good food, it's Birmingham Road, Hatton Park, Warwick so a nice run there......we could convoy up from Towcester meet point.
the last meet there was attended by about 40+ F/TF's with quite a few register members there

As I've said, Kate & I can't make this one so I don't know if anyone else wants to take ownership of this run; Lee perhaps, as it was his suggestion. Dave & Carole will be with us.
It does sound great and if we weren't already booked for our run we'd have joined you. Have a great time and I'll post any pics on the gallery section of our website.

Yeah, that should do it! They're a friendly bunch and you'll see our 'Recommended' poster on the wall so you can just point at that!
