Should have put this thread in our bit ages ago, especially as Silverstone is our 'local' track So, who's going and on what days? Add your name here if you like. Not much point in a convoy as many of us are pretty close as it is, but open to suggestions re meeting places/times, etc... Those attending on Friday or Saturday are invited to visit Debs and the racing Midget. See the details below... SMSers:Rich & Kate (Sunday only, unfortunately) Lee & Debs (Saturday) Phil & New Member to be! (Sunday?) Stuart (Sunday) Stewart (Sunday)

Hope to be there, If I can get work cover......always enjoy silverstone! Most likely be sunday i suspect. Good news is car is running better now, however i am concerned I may have a more serious problem with a whining possibly driveshaft and jerky when on and off the throttle.I'd be grateful of any knowledge of likely cost to fix? p.s. pics from cotswold day look good, miffed i couldn't make that one.

Good grief phil, what are you like? So is 'Nightfire Red' the name of our prospective new member, or just the colour? Rich

Well i did make it to silverstone and i saw your mgf there Rich and a business card from clifton lane appeared on my windscreen(wondered if it was you?)didn't see you but then through the rain what can you see! I must say i was in two minds on the way there as it poured down but i'm glad i went and enjoyed the racing. I have to say there did seem to be less in the way of traders there and cars but i guess the weather put people off.I tend to think of silverstone as an annual pilgrimage as i've been the last 5 yrs (only 2nd time i've made it in an mg as something always seems to go wrong just about that time of year!!)
I hope it doesn't rain like that in two weeks time at silverstone as i've managed to get a free invite to qualifying this year ;D(fingers crossed for lewis and a british win!!).

Hi Stu,
Sorry we didn't get to meet up. We actually left after lunch, but had been there since the early hours as we were on the MGF Register stand until 11am, right next to the orange TF of MG UK! And it was actually Martin from Clifton-Lane who was putting his cards on cars.
I think there were several reasons for the decline in attendance this year. The rain was a main one, but there were also other 'big' events on such as Goodwood FoS and BTCC. However, MG UK are having a much bigger stand at MGFest and all the main dealers are also attending, including MGF Centre who were noticeably missing from Silverstone.
Rich.
