HI All
myself and Mrs F are sneaking away from the kids for a long weekend and taking the TF down to Cornwall for a few days. We're going to be staying near a place called St Germans, which looks like it is near Looe on the south coast.
We holiday down on The Lizard every summer, so I kind of know some of the roads out to the west, but can anyone suggest any good hood down roads towards the Looe/Fowey area?
I also have half an idea of driving back on north coast roads, instead of the usual A30/M5 dash....?
Any ideas gratefully recieved!!
cheers

the whole coastroad from plymouth all the way down to Looe / Fowey, and beyond down to the Lizzard and back up through St Ives and Bude are fantastic! That how I ran my Tf in 2 weeks 2000 miles! Based in that area, you have the whole of the county to play with!!

Well, my expereinces of Cornwall are usually in August, so normally great weather. The forecast for the week after next isn't great, which is a shame as we are going to an outdoor gig at the eden project.
cheers

At the moment, I'm toying with heading north along the A39 up through Bude and Barnstaple, then through Exmoor to Minehead/Tainton, or heading through Plymouth then up the B3213 on Dartmoor, which is somewhere I have never been (just whizzed past...). Or possibly the south coast via Salcombe/Paignton/Torquay...
decisions decisions! am determined to make the most of being able to get out in the TF
cheers all

If you do, and it's during the Monday or Friday pop into Derek Merson's in the town opposite the York Inn and I'll pop the kettle on!

Well, I had a great few days scootling about the coast, managing to not let Ms Winehouse put a complete damper on my break.
If any of you get the chance to get out to Mount Edgcumbe, I really recommend it. Its on that penninsula opposite Plymouth (near Rame Head). A fun drive is to go into Cawsand for coffee, then out along a road which is on cliffs above Whitsand Bay....that is the sort of road soft tops were made for....
