I have taken the plunge and have signed my self up for CIPFA The course starts next week - so I better get my thinking cap back on! Where do you go to study? A nice wee drive through Thetford Forrest - I'm up for it ;D Hi Debs, Just looked at this other thread: Jon, Perry and I are planning on doing the 'Saturday Night Special' (ie. racing Sat and Sun) on the 17 Feb. Can you make both? - Anyone up for a trip to the strip on the Saturday? Cheers Jon

Cheers Jon Jon ~ congrats, tho methinks you must be mad I study at ARU in Chelmsford ~ thought CETC only did those block courses where you go for a week at a time and yes I've heard good things about them too, so you should do well. Anyways ~ will compare notes next time we meet Susan Samph

One of our accountants will be studying in Chelmsford this year - on the AAT fast track course. The CETC course alternates between 1 day a week, and then two days the following week etc. I wouldn't fancy doing an intensive week long course, as I like the facility of having time to digest information and then discuss / analyse it afterwards. I would imagine that on an intensive course you have to soak up so much information in a short time - that you don't have time to question / fully understand it. I am attending a quick 3 day wash up course that is compulsory to cover - if you have exemptions from Financial Accounting and Management Accounting - and then it is straight into Financial Reporting and Financial Management and Stategic Techniques. A quick look at the books yesterday and it seems pretty similar to CIMA - I guess that I just have to forget some of the regs that I learnt in the private sector . Car will be in the garage for the three days whilst I am away in London - it will get fixed!!! Cheers Jon

Right everyone - after a staying a while in sunny London I am back.... and here's the plan for this Sunday Stage 1: - Those from north part of the region meet up at the Little Chef Parsons Grove / Guyhirn on the A47 bypass - postcode PE13 4AA. I think about 09:30 would be good. I appreciate that this may be a bit early on a Sunday - so if it's too early tell me now! I will be leaving at 09:00 to get there if it is any consolation ;D Stage 2: - We travel South East to get to the Travelodge / BP Garage at Ely - postcode CB6 3NN - to pick up people from Cambs region. Stage 3: - Swing by Mildenhall, through Thetford, then via A1066 to Laxfield - hoping to get to the pub between 12:00 - 12:30 - postcode IP13 8DW ;D Of course anyone from North East Norfolk or Suffolk may wish to go direct. Hope that this arrangement works for everyone. Let me know if you have any other requirements. Cheers Jon

Oi Oi kiddies, do we have a rough ETA for the Ely BP Garage rendezvous? Any extra time I can stay in bed is considered valuable as i'm off into town tonight!
