Hi folks, have acquired an underbonnet lamp and ripped out much of the wiring loom for it from a scrapped F. As you know this item was deleted from the TF.
Just wondered where the best place was to tap into a 12V source for it and how I can wire it into the existing bonnet open sensor without upsetting the alarm?
I think IRRC, that the underbonnet push switch that senses when the bonnet is open is basically a short to ground when the bonnet is up. Its it possible to just sink the lamp 12V through this switch in parallel with the existing wire (black purple) I assume is for the alarm?
Does any of that make sense? I guess I just tap 12V off the fuse box that is right underneath the site of the lamp...
Errr help! (competent with electrics - just not sure where to start)
Cheers
Iain

You do realise you'll spend all this time on fitting it and then find out that they removed it because it didn't actually illuminate anything, right?

Petevick has wired a under bonnet lamp on his TF I think he just spliced the earth into the alarm circuit with no ill effect.
