After several attempts and much investigation i am still unable to turn the heater off completely, yesterday i took off the side cover in the passenger foot well and pulled the lever fully back by hand but still have hot air blasting out. Is it possible to change the heater tap or will i need to replace the whole unit ? If it is possible how easy is it to do and where will i get a tap from ?

I think you would need the whole unit and if you do it's a dashboard out job.

I have the same problem with mine, but if I turn the air/con on it eventually starts blowing cold air then I switch the air/con off and then it works fine 'don't know why though'' So if you've got air/con it might be worth a try nigelc.
