I am just about to fit a low water level warning to the car. On removing the rear parcel shelf trim I have found a connector with one black wire and one green/black wire , does anyone know what this is for? thanks Barry

That's a good idea Geoff, with the European event of the Year in Switzerland next August (heat/hills/mountains) that could be worth looking in to, tell me more please.

A couple of relays and a switch. The circuit is selected by a switch on the bulkhead at the back of the parcel shelf which feeds HRW current to the fan from the Dash Switch. I chose the HRW as it switches off on an oil pressure switch and hence reverts to normal EEC control on stopping. The relays redirect the current from the HRW to the fan and isolate/reconnect the fan to the EEC. Geoff F.

Interesting mod that Geoff. Does that mean the HRW only works when the engine is running? (Don't have a hardtop, or HRW in my soft top!)
I was thinking of putting in a manual switch to override the fans together, just for if the car seems a little hot on long runs. I take it I'll need two relays for that too, so neither short the EEC. Is it worth doing both fans?
Rich.

Correct. No oil pressure, no HRW. Forward motoin should give more flow than the rad fan which should not come on in normal driving. I would normally also have the AC On which has an additional front end fan. Geoff F.

So does the EEC ground one side of the fan, with the other permanently positive fed, or is it the other way round?
Rich.
P.S. Sorry to hijack the thread slightly!

The EEC earths the fan relay to feed the fan which is earthed to the body. Geoff F.
