My husband was re-parking my car earlier (up a hill, very close to the wall so it doesn't get bashed by boy-racing tourists!) and the central locking stuck so he couldn't get out! He's not a happy bunny, especially when I advised he "dukes of hazzard'ed".
The doors were locked and the handle on the inside wouldn't work, if you pressed the alarm fob it unlocked and then immediately locked. The passanger door worked, but as he was parked a couple of inches from a wall, that wasn't any help.
If you understand the above, have you any ideas?

The pin for locking the door probably got stuck. Don't know how to cure it the easy way without beeing able to open the door. Isn't it possible to open the door with the key from the outside ?

No, that's the problem, the key does not work either. I think ( a little knowlege can be a dangerous thing) the drivers door lock relay has gone, I'm taking it to a garage this afternoon for them to have a look at it. Owning an F will require deep pockets I think

if you have this problem try making shore the drivers handle on the out side is pushed all the way down as mine does this. if anyone tries to open it when locked by pulling the handle it then stick up slightly and this keeps locking the car when you try to unlock it . i even had to help a garage get in to it once!

It would seem that the drivers lock motor, or some such thing has gone. Needs a new part, not too pocket emptying thankfully and should be done under the warranty I was given with the car, although the warranty people have no record of me, but that's another story.
Hopefully should be sorted mid-week next week.
It mustn't be a common fault then.

I'm on fourth lock and from what I can remember they're about £70 each. I'm convinced that it's the double locking action that breaks them, so I've stopped doing this and I've not had to replace one for about 18 months.

I am still without the car Not through any fault of it's own but we are trying to find out who is paying. I was given 12 months warranty with it when I bought it at the beginning of May and Central Locking IS covered. Simple you would think? Not if the garage didn't send through the paperwork or the warranty company didn't receive it!! Ok, it's not going to break the bank but if it's covered, why should I pay for others incompetance? Sorry, I'll shut up!
