No worries ;D BTW, great looking MG! Nightfire is one of my all time favourite MGF colours Considered buying one to replace my '96F back in 1999 - but couldn't bring myself to part with the old gal...

Thanks Rob, If I can manage to keep it from rusting away around me then I'll be happy. ;D I know what you mean about not being able to part with it. It would make much better sense to have not spent the loads we have so far and put it all into a nice new TF, but I could not bring myself to do it.

I looked at a TF too - and nope, couldn't bring myself to part with the F - as good as the TF was! Where are you getting rust? The wing indicators seem a favourite place for the tin worm, but cars "down south" don't seem to be rusting? Less salt I guess.

I've got a couple of spots (one on either side of the car) on the seam between the front bumper and the wing, about 2" back from the headlight. I think that the two are rubbing together and it's surface rust that's developing and creeping up the wing. Since noticing it, every other MGF that I look at is showing signs of this happening.

Now when David it talking about spots we are talking very very very very small spots on an other wise spotless car. Rob, it is mainly the wing indicators and the same spot David is talking about but much more, also the boot seam and the seam just below one of the rear light clusters oh and there is the bottom of the drivers door and the windscreen surround. One place I was surprised to find it was behind the rear bumper. Around the bumper mounts is quite bad with surface rust. I would think it is down to the salt as you say and the fact the car has lived outside all its life. The above makes it sound like the car is about to fall apart, but it is more bubbling at the moment. I should be getting it all sorted in a few months. ;D It is a pity the register could not get a discount on panels.
