Is anybody out there? It's been awfully quiet in the South recently. Not like us at all. I've even taken to reading the obituaries in case I have missed something! To all you lovely people May Santa bring you lots of MGF goodies so that you have a very happy new year fitting them to your cars. Andrea - we know you are getting an upmarket camera and expensive lenses. James and I are available for (tasteful) modeling assignments, together with our cars, so we look forward to negotiating rates. Roll on a New Year of F Register fun! See you all soon Seasons Greetings

Hiya Alistair.Hows it going? Its quiet everywhere I think,as everyones busy getting ready for silly season. Ive been busy too, cleaning and oiling the air rifle ready for when all the Santas and snowmen go up outside peoples houses. I heard a rumour too, that Andrea is impatiently waiting for Santa (aka Big Dave) to deliver some seriously looking camera. However I must refrain from posing for piccies,as I have been known to break a lense at a 100 yds. I hope everyone has a very messy christmas and a deranged new year! ;D Have fun!

Hello all you lovely SCRRs!!! Sorry not been around. Still pretty poorly I'm afraid. Anyhow, just want to wish you all a very very happy Christmas and may 2007 bring all you desire! No TF pressies for me....but there is a very big Jessops bag sitting in the bottom of David's wardrobe...I haven't looked inside but I have sniffed...and it smells like there may be a Nikon D80 with 18-135mm lens inside....along with a few other goodies!!!! Eat, drink and be merry.......and see you next year at the first Thursday evening drinkies meet (as long as I'm okay!) on the 11th January (venue not yet decided!!!)..... Huge Christmas hugs and soppy Christmas kisses to all SCRRs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! xxxxxxxxx

Andie - I have a D70s. Compared with the FM2 that I had for 25 years it's big, heavy, ugly, complex, but so, so clever. You are going to love your 80. Get into that wardrobe before Christmas Day!

Nigel, I've played with a D70s quite a bit - my friend is a photographer and I've been able to get some handy tuition from him (plus some work!). The D80 is marginally slimmer/smaller yet is so advanced. My friend uses a D200 for a lot of his work and the D80 is almost a D200 in a lightweight body (the D200 is in a metal casing and weighs so much more). And I love the way it feels in my hands - well balanced etc. I am so excited!!! James.....ME WANT, VERY VERY MUCH!!! Thank you SOOOOOO much....you have a pm in reply....and the offer of visiting Chez Burridge over the festive season still stands! Mince pies, sausage rolls and mulled wine will be here in the South Coast section around midday!!!

Kent's a long way to go for mince pies and sausage rolls, but mulled wine - now you're talking! Andie - hope you are feeling loads better and will have a healthy 2007.

I watched "The Living Daylights" last night, 004 was clearly killed on Gibralter. Are you an imposter!?

Thought I would get in on the act as an honorary SCRR (Dorset Chapter). A very Merry Christmas to you all, and a happy and prosperous New Year.
Alistair - Gillingham in Kent is not to far from Stortford. Keep the pies hot Andie - on my way!!
