Problem re booking a pub for the Xmas SCRR meet.
After chatting with a few members I realise that a lot of people may not be able to make a weekend meet prior to Xmas due to family committments taking precendence.
With this in mind and having the Xmas natter on the 3rd and performing with the orchestra on the 16th December, I wonder how many would be happy/able to attend a weekday evening Xmas get-together instead of a Sunday?
The pub I had in mind was the Walnut Tree Inn at Mere - very easy to get to as its just off the A303. They have limited availability for Xmas bookings now. I need to book asap before the dates available are booked by others. After getting James C's feedback I think it best I ask you - THE PUBLIC!!! - what you think is best? Please post your opinions on the above suggestions - but don't take too long though!!!
Obviously whichever date is eventually chosen it will not be suitable for everyone...thats the way it goes I'm afraid. ..we may just end up with having a party of four!!!

Ohh i was thinking of asking if we are doing anything at xmas!! Any Sunday in Dec should be good for us if a date is set soonish so i can plan around it. Cant do a weekday eve though, so i vote for any of the Sunday dates on the poll ;D

I've voted for Sunday 10th as the 17th is the week before Christmas Eve and the day after Andie's concert. A weekend evening is better for me personaly, as it gives me more time to get ready

I voted for Sunday the 10th,as thats not too near the all important concert, and thats more do-able (its a word!) for us as weekdays arent possible really,so we hope to be able to make it down there for some southern hospitality!

Sorry - we won't be on this one Andrea (get you!) as it's too far for us 'easterners'. See you Sunday. Pete

Asked the Walnut Tree Inn to 'provisionally' hold on to the 10th. The reason it's so far west this time is because its planned to be a joint bash with James C's group and any other South West-ers who care to join us and the area I've opted for is central to this expanded area. And LOL at you Pete....funnily enough my name has always been Andrea - my mum-in-law shortened it to Andie when I met her 24 years ago and I recently reverted to using it for ease of introducing myself....and it was the name I used on another forum before I left said forum...and it stuck!
