That comes a bit too early for me Andie hun ! I didn't take you for a wimp Herbie!!!! Fill tank, bottle of water on passenger seat, Bremen, Hannover, Duisberg, Ghent, Bruges, Calais, Dover, M25, Romsey - less than 900k and about 25 hours including a sleep on the boat from Calais to Dover. Then a drink with Andie and a quick bag of frites with American. Getting home is a simple reverse of the route. I'm sitting here, planning your trip, while listenening to Mick and The Boys Beggers Banquet on a DSD remaster. I have the original on vinyl but CD is more convenient - I can't get a direct drive turntable and SME arm in to the front of the pc.

What a great evening! The guy opposite me was the most good looking and intelligent person I have met in a long time - that was until they took the mirror away. Can you have a meet of one? What are you all trying to tell me? Still the beer was good and I had a great drive round the country lanes there and back. ;D Seems a shame that Andie organised an evening meet as reqested by several members, but everybody conspicuous by their absence Let's hope for a better result next time.

Lets hope Andie isnt too disheartened by the small turnout after making the effort to arrange a meet that seemed to be in such demand. It is always a shame when things go wrong to stop many people from being able to make it after all. At least you had a good pint,a wonderful drive down some lanes hopefully top down,as thats a fantastic feeling at night ;D......infinetly better that being stuck in the house thats for sure! And as long as one enjoyed themselves, its all worth it in my book. ;D Im sure the next meet on the books will be a huge success as were the others, and rumour has it there may be a small northern incursion too.

Oh Alistair my love, I am so sorry that I got held up at work. As you know - thanks to the wonders of texting! - I got held up in the studio as we had an order of lights to be delivered to an interior designer in London first thing this morning and I didn't get home until 8.30pm. I feel awful that you were alone. Shame no one else was free either. Anyhow 003.5, I WILL be at the next monthly evening meet! According to my diary I believe that the next one is on 9th NOVEMBER , different venue maybe??? So sorry Alistair. x

That's the way it goes. Sometimes conflicts arise in everybody's diaries, and Andie's situation is a classic example of how things can suddenly change. As you may have gathered from my comments, I found it very amusing, and the TF needed a run anyway. I am sure Nov 9 meet will be a great success at any suitable venue. The B&R Staff seems a popular central meeting place, being used by the southern branches of a number of car clubs (MGCC Abingdon Works Centre, Ferrari Owners Club etc). It can be reached within 45 to 60 minutes from a very wide area from Eastern Dorset to West Sussex along the coast, and south Wiltshire and Berkshire in the north. I would say that, wouldn't I, - living a mere 10 miles away ;D I am happy to travel to any venue (within reason) if it will attract a reasonable turn out of Fers. I am sure that any incursion from the (further) north would be made very welcome indeed. Looking forward to the next meet. ;D ;D

Alistair - you are a total darling!!! Bless you! The Bear is fine for me, I will leave it that way if it's deemed to be central for the majority. So...take note....huge advance warning....the next one will be on the 9th November, same place same time....be there or be a secret MX5 admirer...

That's right James - leave it until they have a new batch of gorgeous waitresses! Mind you, some of those there last night were very presentable One of these days we will have a raiding party into the West Country just to even things up a bit.

I remember you telling us that in Mechelen...!
Going on from the idea of evening meets, maybe we could arrange a quiz master and have an inter- Freg-area MG pub quiz!!!!
