I'd like to get to this meet if I can, but I have a long, sleepless night on the Friday and possibly Castle Combe on the Saturday. I'll put my name on the list nearer the 17th if I can make it. Be nice to see some old friends and meet some new folk.

Jon, thanks for the info. This closure wasn't mentioned by the woman I spoke to on the phone today when I arranged the seating for lunch, yet I just googled and came up with a city council document stating the road is closed for four weeks or more...if anyone has more info regarding this, please let me know. Thanks.

Put the Tippings down for two! I believe it is just the bridge that is closed where Portsdown Hill Road (B2177) goes over the A3. You can go from there down Portsdown Hill (London Road - A3), turn right at the lights into Southwick Hill Road, up hill past Queen Alexander Hospital to the roundabout at the top. Take the 3rd exit back to the Churchillian on your left. Hope this helps. Off to the Revival this weekend - South Downs Run following weekend - then it's Churchillian day! No peace is there! Pete

Could you draw that on a map please?

In a word James - No. Churchillian is just west (left with your map up the right way) of the B2177/A3 crossroads. Best for you to turn off the M27 at the Portchester turn off and follow signs for A3 London. Just after turning left at a roundabout in Cosham, onto the A3 you will turn left at the lights and go passed Alexander Hospital as described earlier. Now go have a look at that map, Autoroute, etc. Pete

Pete, thanks for the clarification there. Much appreciated!
Stu, still hoping to join you all at Castle Coombe on Monday. If I am still able to come along I will have my 13 year old son with me as due to teacher training days, school doesn't resume until 7th September....

If it's just a bridge that is closed, there may be signed diversions in place, or a notice giving the date of reopening. Does anyone live close enough to have a quick look?
