Evening all
I thought I'd better check out the Churchillian prior to the invasion of the SCRR so I took my significant other there on Saturday night for a damn fine meal and a glass of crystal clear ale. The food was lovely (as were the waitresses) and the beer was good. A nice clean friendly environment. Then parked up over the road for half an hour had a cudlle and watched the lights twinkling all over Portsmouth and the Isle of Wight.
Aaaaah!

Sounds like a great place for the second meet,I only wish I could join you as its sounds wonderful. Best keep James away from those waitresses though....you know what hes like.

Yeah, tough old life eh!?!?
If distance is an issue, bring mrs Spike and make a weekend of it.
There are plenty of good B&B's around, some gorgeous sights and places to go. If you do decide to go down this route let me know and I will mail you more details. Also, I'm sure Paula will be able to give you the low down on the New Forest and it's treasures, in my opinion one of the best places for some roof down cruising!

Thanks for all the tips!! ;D. We are in fact planning hopefully to come down for a few days as both Bev and myself are wanting to see the Tiger1 running at Bovington, and hopefully meet up with you guys at a meet too....as that would just finish the weekend off perfectly for us! So I will be in touch nearer the time, and thanks again for the offer. BTW we do have the required coloured car eg.Black so we should blend in with you SCRR's perfectly

Nige, thanks for going to so much trouble! Sounds good! Nice to get the pub checked over again - after DJM's comments I was concerned that it had gone downhill recently!!!
Spikee, would be great to see you and Bev! As you know, David is Dorset born and bred so he can give you some ideas for sightseeing not too far from good old Bovvy Tank Museum.
Now to organise a date....

Andie Great to hear that you and David are back safe and sound from your adventures. Look forward to hearing all about it. ;D Setting a date for the next meet ASAP would be great, as our diary for weekends is rapidly filling up, as I am sure so is yours and everyone elses. Once a date has been entered for a SCRR meet, then we have the perfect excuse of a 'prior commitment' to turn other invites down!! Perhaps we should be looking to set dates/venues through to Xmas, so that forward planning is possible. If you need any help I am sure 003.5 will make himself available between saving the world and womanising! (In his dreams) - now where is that vodka martini?

Alistair...yes, I am back safe and sound! I have now 'been abroad'!!! Re organising dates - thats something I have been considering as we need to organise a Christmas lunch bash too. I think we may need 003.5's help, if he can drag himself away from the womanising and world-saving...... I must call Miss Moneyeurocent....make an appointment to converse with him...!!!

Chris...you seem to understand James so well....!!! We had to watch him last weekend...especially at the Travel Inn at Ashford where he kept asking if he could take the slim blonde waitress to Belgium in his pocket......!
Back to the pub...looks like the next pub meet will have to be after C2C weekend....throw some dates at me please....no, calendar dates, not the fruity variety!
....10th September onwards....17th???

Both the 10th and the 17th are good for me. In the end I took Fiona home with me, Andie, so I let the waitresses go

Andie
10th no good for me (MGOC South Downs Run - well wash my mouth out with soap!!)
17th difficult but possible. (I have to pick up a display trailer at 16:00 hours for the local scouts - not with the TF I hasten to add!)
24 - no problemo, at present!
Then we hit October
The Xmas lunch at your place on 25 December? Exit stage left......
More seriously, if we are to do a formal Christmas lunch we need to act quickly as we may have some difficulty finding a venue this late in the year.
003.5 still available, if required!

Alistair, Miss MoneyEuroCent has mail for you!!!
Nige, do you know if there would be a problem with 10 or so MGs turning up for Sunday lunch? I'm assuming its a decent sized place so hopefully they can cope!

Andie, hope you enjoyed Belgium, welcome back.
The CC is a big place but gets v busy so booking would be essential.
BTW Sunday Lunch is £7.75
