Thanks for the info JP. I have already been chatting to other regional reps in order to get something off the ground - its been a case of starting off blind. As I said before, its been a difficult time for many of us with lots of organised events to think about as well as house-moves and other things happening.

Mike...I'm afraid that most of us SCRRs seem to be attending on Saturday only....can you swap days??? There is a convoy...nudge nudge wink wink.....!!! HI..I'd love to convoy, but my wife works on saturdays, so I have two kids to look after...and my son might object to being locked in the boot of the TF while I drive up the A34....Although I could convoy in my people mover....but you might be embarrassed!! If we do a family day there on sunday, it will be in my Galaxy...will I be allowed in? mikef

Hi Andie
Sorry to hear of your recent problems - sorting those is far more important than SCRR!!
From my experience JP is quite right - set dates and venue and see who turns up. The best Committee consists of 1!
I like the idea of somewhere in the New Forest - Brockenhust/Lyndhurst area? - but tourists would be a problem during the summer.
Romsey/Stockbrige area could be suitable, eg The Mayfly at Chilbolton, Bear & Ragged Staff (used for MGCC natters) or The Malthouse at Timsbury, but it really depends on distribution of members. Suggest, pick a venue and see what reaction you get. It can always change for future events. Indeed the meetings could be on a rotational basis eg 5 venues (north, south ,east, west of area and central) until there is general consensus of where 'home' should be.
Just my musings on the matter for you to consider. Hope the discussions at Silverstone will help you resolve the issues, and rest assured that, God and work willing, we will turn up where and when ever you say.

Count me in folks!! Hi to all!!
Bloomin' missed Silverstone and your great company due to work - bummer, I was looking forward to that.
Anyone ever been up Portsdown Hill? There is a fab pub called the Churchillian and the views are nothing less than spectacular - Portsmouth, The Solent, Isle of Wight , Hayling Island. And a good run across the Downs behind you!
Any takers??? Your Thoughts? Andie??

One of my friends (yes I do have some) organised a treasure hunt for his 2CV club covering some 25/30 miles, starting at Ringwood and finishing at a nice pub in the New Forest ( I am reliably informed that they serve good food and excellent beer, - and my friend knows his beers!!!) Unfortunately only 1 car turned up, so event cancelled and all the hard work was for nowt!. As a result he has offered me the details of the route, questions (and answers) should anybody out there fancy trying this as a short event - perhaps an afternoon meet, treasure hunt and evening social in pub? I would suggest a nominal entry fee to cover small prizes for the winners and perhaps a bottle of something for my friend. Andie/Kris - if you would like to make an event of this Carol and I will volunteer to check the route etc, as I will already have the answers. Likewise we will not enter!! If the reaction is the same as 2CVers, then let it drop. Over to you for a decision, Oh Exalted Ones

Hi Andie,
THanks for organising the convoy up on Saturday. Reading through various threads it is clear that you are working very hard to galvanise people. If there is anything that I can do please let me know. I will try to oblige.

Mark...was lovely to meet you on Saturday and continue with some banter in the flesh! It was a fabulous day out - exhausting, but fun! Re the meet...watch this space...and thank you for your very kind offer of help to get things moving....I seem to at last have a team helping me behind the scenes!!!! Thanks everyone for offers of help and suggestions. Even though I think we have our first venue and date, keep the suggestions trickling in as I really do believe that variety is the spice of life....!!!

probably best to book into a local B&B just in case, looking at my track record. At least if i lock my keys in the boot again i will be able to walk home in an hour or so saving me smashing up another rear light cluster!!!(see opps pic on Adrains Sliverstone pics)
