Generally, I am big enough and old enough to take responsibility for my own actions but this time I feel justified in spreading the blame around.
I attended Kempenrit 2006 in good faith, expecting that the event would be conducted along responsible lines.
Generally this was true but .... at dinner on the Saturday night I was lead astray by Kasper. I was set on enjoying my meal with just a single glass of mild white wine spritser as accompaniment until I was, almost, forced to sup of an ale of the Devil!!!!!
I have tried to get over the trauma and have done well so far until this evening when I, once again, faltered on the good path ....
I went to our local supermarket and bought 6 bottles of Duvel which I shall attempt to NOT open and NOT drink.
I expect to fail in my resolve and will probably raise my glass to Kasper and the entire team who made Kempenrit 2006 so enjoyable.
Your good health, ladies & gentlemen.

John,
At the time of the year as we all look back on the recent past, Kempenrit and the day before for us was one of highlights of 2006. Obviously you have to adapt to the local habbits and so we tried to introduce our friends from overseas to the Belgian joys of life. Including the Devils ale....
I'm happy you recovered well from this and that you now are able to prepare yourself on the next Kempenrit event. That absolutely will be joined by us again...
As a last advice, Do not leave this bottles unopended, choose a suitable moment and enjoy... But, Don't drink and drive!
Looking forward to raise the glass with our UK friends and the Kempenrit team again.
Cheers!

Aha, you have enjoyed Duvel...next year you have to try a beer that's a little bit stronger : "Mort subit" This is one of the strongest beers in Belgium I think ! See you next year again !

At least next year (oops this year) we can sleep back at the hotel on the Sunday 'cos I'm planning to return on the Monday.
However should we drink too much on the Saturday night we only have ourselves to blame for hang-overs on the day itself.
I'm meeting with the organisers of Kempenrit 2007 this weekend so we can start to put a plan together, it may be hard to beat 2006, but we will have a go.
50 cars this year anybody ?

I don't think I tried that one in 2006, you might have to remind me at the 2007 Kempenrit. ;D Although I will be seeing if I can fill the boot and passangers seat with Gouden Carolus Triple & Westmalle Tripple.

I've just read this again and I've really no idea what it is talking about
3 sCENSORED - "girl thingy"s of chopped echalots
I went back and looked at the original to see what was so vile that it needed censoring. If I've split it adequately then this should be the original -
3 sp oon s of chopped echalots
If I've got it wrong then it requires 3 portions of chopped shalots using a standard bowl shaped eating implement that normally goes with a knife and fork.
Sorry is anybody was offended by my use (actually Duvel's use) of the word sp@@n.

I guess "d'n Duvel"made you do it. Don't worry It's a good brew, It looks as a nice break between drinks. 1/3 of a bottle well spend (if you have a second and a 3rd on your side

I think we should adopt Duvel as the second (after OSH) as the official MG beer. See the car right in the middle of the front row outside the Duvel brewery. If it's too small then go to the duvel.be site.

That's all a bit sad as Palm (another brewery) was one of our sponsors during several MGF Kempenrit's and brewery De Koninck is one of the MG Car Club Antwerp sponsors.
So all I could say is that Duvel isn't tastefull, smells fishy and can be drunk as water.

On the other hand, try "Bush" on Saturday evening and you'll miss the event of Sunday completely....

I think the idea on Saturday evening is to try as many as possible, providing James does not fall in the canal.
How good's Bush then Erik ?
I've tried KZ124 (which is 12.4 og) I needed a knife and fork for that !
