Terry has decided to take a break from being the F register Rep in the region so we're looking for someone to take up the reins.
If you're from anywhere north of Manchester and are a member (or potential member) of the MGCC and feel you can organise some local meetings then we would like to hear from you.
e-mail me at events@mgfregister.org for further info

I'm sad to hear Terry has stepped down, his runs were expertly organised and always great fun. I may be up for this position in the new year.

What is involved in being a Regional Rep? Couldn't make the AGM today as the anticipated (and duly arrived )weather put me off.

Steve, as you are aware, not much really, as much as you want to put in.
Start off gently, organise a pub meet, usually a good place to start, such as Soo in Hertfordshire, then if you like the idea organise a monthly meet, choose a good location, friendly to car clubs that sort of thing.
I will leave this to Tim, Dave and David, between them they have heaps of experience, what I will say is that the F Register actively supports and promotes the regional representatives, you will find more pages, invisible usually, for committee and reps to discuss matters and more assistance than you can think of, full details will be forthcoming from the experts.
Thanks for considering this and I offer my congratulations if you decide to go ahead, because, we are here for the members benefit and enjoyment.

There is a debate running on mg-rover.org regarding non-attendance at organised meets, the chance up here would be a fine thing. I find it frustrating that we seem to be alone as a region in having no activity. I even emailed the MGCC rep a few weeks ago and have yet to receive a reply regarding MG meetings and events in the region.
I guess that I am putting out the appeal again... "What can we do?".

Hi Graham,my post on Org, and not Non attendance as such but poor from the Fers on there so to speak, and turning out into another -Org insult throwing thread don't see much of that on here thanks goodness.
anyway that's another story ,sorry you didn't get email reply back from whoever you sent enquiry to, but how would You be fixed to take this position on? Have you some spare time to help out? it's as much or little as you can spare and if you do you can come onto hidden Committee / Reps bit of this site and get all the help you need in starting up and carrying on, first step would be as Adrian suggests above ,put invite on your relevent thread and ask who would like to meet up at Pub of your choice at set date and time(make sure it has car park, and if you start getting lots of interest perhaps warn pub there may be a few of you turning up that Day or Night) ,then just go and see who turns up then take it from there, fancy it ? then you sound like just the man to me ;D Dave

Since I'm a teacher and I have 6 weeks of leisure coming up, I'm willing to give it a go and see what happens if nobody objects.
Regards,
Graham

Well done Graham, I don't think you'll regret it, you and others in your area will soon find enjoyment from this.
As you will learn from the old hands it is quite easy, our newest reps are turning their hands to expanding their meets and are by now quite confident because they have the support of their group and the Register, as you will too.

Hi Graham,
Well done, I live near Heathrow but get up to Whitby 5 or 6 times a year, so if you have a meet in the area and they coincide I'd be happy to make up the numbers! Next trip 15th 23rd of this month.
