I got carried away when looking for a nice lunch drive yesterday and ended up doing this tinyurl.com/34vbt6But after coming home and pouring over some maps I came up with this for a lunch drive. It's not a pub lunch drive, it would require people to bring a picnic, as we'd be stopping at Wimbleball Lake for lunch. Which comes up with this tinyurl.com/3dmgakAny views, opinions or alternative suggestions?

Great routes, both of them. Used to travel all round there when I worked out of Taunton. Esp the drivethrough Porlock and up the hill ;D Loved it in my ZS, cant wait to try in the F (eventually)

Wimbleball Lake looks a good spot for a picnic and maybe some pics that would make this year's calendar; that route looks good, too. Is there a nearby facility for munching should it rain?

... Is there a nearby facility for munching should it rain? I'd be happy if there was somewhere to get a meal!

Did a run similiar to this on the bikes, back in feb. Stopped at a hotel in Lynton, as an X bus driver's bought a lovely place there and we - almost all being bus drivers - stopped in there for lunch en-route.
When are we looking at doing this one then?

Apparently there is a tearoom there which does light lunches for those who don't want to picnic.
I'll need to go and check it out some when, but I guess if we aim for some when towards the summer, say late May or early June?

James,
That's quite a nice run. Wimbleball Lake is a nice place ~ plenty of space for a picnic. Jo & I would be up for this run.

PS: Nice hat!
