Not too many free dates in June or July this year so we are having a slightly early 3rd Anniversary gathering - havn't quite decided on a venue yet but keep the date free in your diary for a lunchtime do.
No other MG events on that day yet as far as I can make out !

I think it's be nice to go back to the scene of our very first meeting for a lunchtime birthday bash as we havn't been back since !
So the Grasshopper at Westerham on the A25 it is !
We had nine cars on our inaugural meeting in 2003 which is pretty small fry compared to the 30 plus at the Herts Wheels first one but back in the old days that was quite a lot ! That's what inflation does for you !.

Tim, sorry can't make this one as will be at the Eden Project. Just a thought though isn't there a Brands Hatch meet on this day as well. Regards Ian

Yes Ian you're right - might venture out to the WTCC myself. Which means the 3rd Birthday will change to Saturday 20th May - same venue anyone ?

Saturday 20th is the next committee meeting Tim, unless you want to make it later in the evening straight after the meeting.

Neither date is much good for me, however if I have a preference I would say the 21st, however this would mean not going to Brands or "Scoobynet Live" (but then that is in Yorkshire).

We could have lunch on the way home, then straight on to the anniversary bash ?

I'm not sure whether or not I should take this opportunity to point out once again that I am THE founder member of SEF, since I was the only person to turn up to the first meeting that we arranged Okay, so I didn't own an F or T at the time, and I went to the pub in the ZS. But, no Fs ot TFs tuned up. It was a lonely meeting...

First meet was at Bletchingly I was there as were (from memory) : Tim M, Tim J, Bob L, Dave (never to be seen again), Angela and Emma. I think there was someone else as well. Idea was to have a "younger group of MG Drivers"......

Idea was to have a "younger group of MG Drivers"...... No! The first meeting was arranged for the Grasshopper at Westerham. The meet was arranged over on mgcars.org.uk and about 10 people said that they were going to turn up. Then various people found reasons not to, until it was down to 3 with a couple of possibles. On the day, it was only me that turned up!

Ralph, sorry it wasn't Bletchingly, it was the pub in Westerham on the A25, it was 15/6/03 (Fathers Day) and the pub was only doing a Carvery (which no one ate).
I even went and found the original thread on the BBS...... We had 8 F's and 1 TF there.
I need to get out more!!!

Okay, you want evidence...
See the thread entitled 'Kent meet' started by Angela Hartnup on 19th May. The meeting was on Sunday 1st June 2003. Angela and Tim Jenner said that they would be there, but neither turned up.
Also, quote from thread titled 'young F owners!' by Tim Jenner dated 9th June: I'm 23 (as of yesterday), count me in on any meet/events. We could have another go at the Kent meet which never got off the ground - last time the suggestion was the Grasshopper in Westerham. Does that suit/not suit anyone?
It was a lonely meeting!

I do vaguely recollect that Ralph - but it doesn't count as it was only you !!
We reconvened two weeks later to try and resurrect the idea a little more successfully on 15th June
The following were there
Tim Morris Tim Jenner Tim Woolcot Dave the Duck Emma Dubrey Corrine Gower Neil Sutton Bob Larcombe Angela Hartnup Dave ? (not sure if it was Mills or not)
Dave the Duck insitgated the whole "younger drivers" thing then didn't want to lead it and promptly disappeared never to appear again leaving it up to me as the old git to organise another meeting. Most of them apart from Emma and Corrinne are still around the F scene.
All is revealed in Past Events on the SEF website !
Now back to this one - I'm inclined to go back to plan A now as I had forgotten the committee meeting with a sunday lunchtime meet at the Grasshoppper instead of sitting in a car park at Brands Hatch for an hour.
Who's up for that one then ?
