Welcome to the South East area of the MGF Register otherwise known as the South East Fers ! We cover the counties of Surrey, Sussex, Kent, Hampshire, Berkshire & South London but tend to concentrate our events to the south of the M25. There is a seperate SEF website which has details of our events as well as articles and reviews of past events. Check the website out by clicking this link... homepage.ntlworld.com/tim.morris4/SEF.htmPost here for anything F/TFwise in the south east.

Richard and I would like to log our interest in the Italy trip this September - who do we need to talk to and is there anybody from the SE going?

Richard and I would like to log our interest in the Italy trip this September - who do we need to talk to and is there anybody from the SE going? Hello Jane and welcome, If by "The Italy Trip" you mean the Natter That Matters in Turin, you don't need to "inform" anyone as such. You can either go with the "suggested" plan if that's what you're after, or make your own plans, choose and book your own hotels according to your own preferences and pick your own route. Travelling in just pairs/threes is also good. The idea is to just see who turns up and chat about each others journey there. There are other bits and pieces being planned, but the main aim is to have a standard format pub meet simply a little further afield. I'm going, I think Tim M is, plus quite a few others. There are as many options (and budgets) to get there as there are people attending. Everyone has their own idea of a good European road trip. I'm taking around two days to get there, going via the Passo Stelvio on the way. Why not come along to the next SEF meet and discuss the options?

Hi Folks, I have been living in the US (on company business) for a while but moving back to Kent next weekend.
Had to do the proper thing so have bought my first MG (a 96 F) as a run around.
It's a leap of faith as I haven't even seen it (other than a few photos) but picked it up from an internal classified ad (through my company) from a guy who is moving in the other direction, so I am confident it will be great.
So, only joined the Register today but looking around it seems that the SE section meet around in Cobham - is there a subsection that meets in East Kent at all?
Looking forward to meeting you all, Martin

Welcome Martin! The South East Effers are drawn from all over Kent, Sussex and Surrey (and beyond!), so our coverage is far wider than Cobham (the one in Kent or the Surrey one!) and Whitstable is definitely on our turf. Your '96 F will be most welcome at a SEF get together, and you're already at the best place to benefit from a wealth of experience and expertise with these cars (and with a '96er, you might need it! ) Regarding East Kent events, the South-East Section of the Car Club organises regular natters (aka pub meets) over in that area. Also Ralph Gadsby of Sittingbourne may be your man - he runs MG meets at points East of Maidstone I think, aimed mainly at Zeds and Fs (that is, the modern MGs), but he gets on this forum, so I'm sure he'll be along shortly to let you know more. Again welcome, Martin, look forward to seeing you soon, make sure you introduce yourself in person!

Welcome Martin - we do venture in to Kent on occasions and you've just missed one run and meet in April over there.
Our next closest meet to you will be on the evening of June 18th when we'll combine with the South East Centre natter at the Bell in Godstone around 8pm - which I appreciate is still a fair way for you but if it's a warm evening could be a good run.
Dave A above tends to organise our forays into the Kent area.

Hi Tristan, The South East Effers do indeed hold meets all over the south-east - especially areas within reach of the first dozen or so junctions of the M25! So don't worry; there should be a meet near you some time fairly soon. There aren't any smaller sub-groups, but believe me Surrey is very well represented in the SEF make-up ! It's also quite common for a group of neighbours to form up to drive together to more distant events. If you take to us you'll likely look forward to driving that bit further, to enjoy the car, and the like-minded company! Look forward to seeing you soon!
