My postie wanted £1.06, so obviously he is on commission.
Great read with lots to interest everybody. Well done to those who contributed in any way.
PS Tim - don't expect any help at your post office - they make more profit if they can stitch people up for an extra £1, and sod the carbon emissions of an unnecessary 10 mile round trip!! But the sun was out, the roof down, and all was well with the world.

I left for work before the post this morning but even if I get a card to collect it my PO has previously never charged for collections from the sorting office. ;D

knew I picked mine up at fest for a good reason! Had a quick flick through at Fest - looks very good - especially the Belgian / Dutch contributions!! Still not had time to read through it properly though!

Mine got through OK without any extra sticker or payment requirement. ;D Ian, the extra £1.05 is OK if the Register is getting it but not when the post office gets it. lol. Not that we need an increase in price if Tim is reading this

Received my demand from the Post Office. A bit annoyed at the £1 handling fee - a 2000% charge on the 5p postage cost. Sounds a bit like the banks charging £30 for telling you that your account is £2 overdrawn and that you only have £498 off your £500 overdraft left (actual letter received by me when I was an apprentice). Perhaps I should send an invoice to the Post Office for picking up their litter (dropped elastic bands) and redelivering the post to the correct address.
Good to back on that high horse

Still nothing... Tim, did you definitely send mine out? Rich. Mine hasn't arrived either Rich but Moira tells me our PO area is on strike - even the counter staff were out yesterday!

Mine arrived today....thanks I think I avoided the charge by not being in when they delivered it...

And thats a lovely BRG TF in the pic of the Basingstoke Festival of Transport :-)
