FasTForward issue 7 is now out and has been posted - the magazine features the launch of MG at Longbridge, Mark Baker - MGF Racer, A review of windstops by Scarlet Fever - Pressure Relief Thermostat, event reviews, International articles and Regional round ups plus much more.
I would also like to apologise to anyone who has had to collect their issue from the Post Office due to insufficient postage. Unfortunately I used what had been the correct rate since the change of postal rates late last year but it seem the post office has sneaked in a 5p increase without me realising and my local post office didn't point this out. Once again please accept my apologies for this and I'll make sure it's 60p next time. !
Some of you may also get two copies if you picked one up at MGFest - we seem to have misplaced some of the names of people picking them up in the confusion of clearing up at the end of the weekend. Apologies for that as well.
Hopefully though that won't spoil your enjoyment of the latest issue .

yep got my copy at MG-fest. The windstop article from Andy is a very interessting read. Funny to see 2 pages of myself in my favorite magazine, and 2 pages from mgf.be. Nice to see that FTF becomes more and more international, if you see the articles written by MGF/TF owners from all over europe. Two thumbs up......again !

The post office decided to let mine through, they had originally put the "postage needed" label on it, but then found a change of heart lol. I do like Inge's trousers, Bruno I see my time as famous photographer is coming around as well ;D

Tim, it is always a pleasure to receive the new issue, and what is 5p to we MG owners.
The big hit is the £1.00 HANDLING FEE at Welwyn Garden City Main Sorting Office.
Presumably it costs more for a Postie to stick a card through my door than to stick the actual package through?
I'll try to remember to put a stamp on my Heart of England Entry.

Haven't had mine yet... Not even a card from the PO... Hope something comes through on Monday. I knew I should have picked mine up at Fest. Rich.

Mine also arrived with a yellow sticker demanding an extra 5p postage and £1 handling fee, but it had been crossed out with a biro and the package delivered without penalty. I image that the weight was right on the limit for the postage paid.
It's another excellent read - many thanks to all those concerned.

Mine had to be collected from the sorting office in Colchester with £1.05 to pay! Great read though.

Mine isn't here yet either.
On the subject of appologies... The Windstop article was sent unfinished to Tim to show him what i was working on, saldy i forgot all about it after i had sent it and upon reading it at Fest i realised it was a bit long on opinion and short on facts in some regards. Examples of this include the splash panel for Mike's roll hoops which simply say 'expensive', when i had intended to state that they are an expensive option for a windstop (the article details windstops not hoops, if you want hoops then they are well priced). The X-Power hoops part is also very opinionated and could have been worded better - i was trying to point out that the hoops don't integrate with the parcel shelf, hood, inspection panel and windstop very well at all, but it actually reads like i personally don't like them very much (which is kinda true, for the above reasons, but you don't want to read my opinions, you want an impartial review of the hoops) and lastly, there is no mention at all of the MGF Centre hoops - of all the hoop options these are more of a windstop than hoops so they should have been there and are noticable by thier absence. I didn't have a photo of them (i do now) so i hadn't written them up at the time of submission.
So, if i have upset anyone i am sorry - it's my own fault, i shouldn't have sent it through before finishing it.

Thanks for being understanding everyone - It's not the weight that is the problem as that is well within limit but the fact the Post Office sneaked in an extra 5p on the normal rate for this size package. When I purchased several hundred stamps at 55p each they didn't mention that the 55p rate had gone up to 60p so I am a little annoyed as it is costing some of you extra - it's also interesting how some postal districts let it through and others don't.
Thanks for clarifying about your article Andy and also worth noting for any one else sending articles in - they do need to be complete as they will get published !!

I do like Inge's trousers, Bruno The picture with us both besides the F, is a old photo (you can see it on the F), but the article was needing a shoot of us both with the car. Inge isn't happy at all with this picture, but I was to lazy to shoot a new picture. ;D
