The 25th is our usual date for Sunday lunch. As of yet, we have no venue decided.
James C has penned in the 25th as his inaugural meet for the West of England. I thought that we could gatecrash his area (a Wiltshire/Somerset pub?)...thoughts on this please?
Hopefully I will have Aphrodite back on the road by then, lol. I'm really sad at not being able to take her out for a topless spin in this beautiful weather - David's Discovery just doesn't 'do it' for me anymore...

Seeing as the uptake for this so far has been Colin and myself, I think we'll call it off this time and I'll put some real effort into organising one for another month, so pick one of your normal locations and I'll come along to that

So...any venue ideas??! James...Alistair...how far is Berwick St. James from you guys? There's a good pub there... Or somewhere more forest-based? Or coastal...? Come on chaps and girlies... Paula, where is this Happy Cheese place exactly and what is that like???!

Hour and a half about, practically nothing in terms of what I'm used to driving for lunch

Another suggestion (but a pub I haven't visited and not in the SCRR area but it is in James' WoE area!!!!), the Victoria and Albert at Netherhampton, just outside Salisbury. I know it won an award from CAMRA a while back but, as I said, I've never been there.

This is the problem I have, although I lived in the area for 18 years I don't know of all that many pubs around the area. I could do with someone from the Wiltshire area to scout for me

James, just do what I do, rely on the The Good Pub Guide or other similar websites! I fould the Victoria and Albert mentioned as a decent venue whilst browsing online. I saw a link to a car club and they had a write up on a road run in February which ended there...as they were owners of Porsches and the like, I guess it couldn't have been too much of a dive! They mentioned the food was good, the beer was good and the pub has....drumroll please....a BEER GARDEN!!!!

You see, that's using the noggin! ;D
I'll look into some for a future meet then.
Actually I DO know the V&A, we went there for a Christmas meal one year. Nice place as I remember although that was about 10 years ago now (how times flies)
I'd say go for the V&A, it's fairly central to everyone who's likely to be going.

Only about 50 minutes for me, so no problemo! However I think some of those in eastern parts of SCRR are hoping for a meet closer to them soon - perhaps April?
By the way Andie - that's a nasty black eye you've got!

By the way Andie - that's a nasty black eye you've got! Sigh....very funny, 005 ( because you stepped into the breech during my enforced absence I've decided to promote you!!! However, be warned, demotion IS possible... ) Re the meet being Salisbury area, I think if we go for the V&A then it can then be classed as James' West of England inaugural Sunday lunch meet with us SCRRs raiding the area.......!!!!! If that is the case, then he can take over the booking etc.... April will be more easterly....but I will be relying upon you, 005, to come up with an idea for a venue!

Well? I can organise with the V&A if needed, but I'd like to know what the rest of you want to do, this isn't a dictatorship (yet )

Been out for a new supply of woad and some leopard skin tights, so (hopefully) we're ready for this one. Go for it
