I've arrived home safe and sound after another excellent day out. Thanks to Colin for the organisation and the free pass, and to all the friends old and new that I saw today.
Had a good drive home and was passed by a herd of Morgans (or whatever the collective noun is for multiple Morgans), who gave me a friendly wave and a toot. Then I drove into three very heavy bursts of rain, but with the camera in the boot could not record the event and claim membership of the HCHDC. Had a good blast up Telegraph Hill - just to get the carbon off the valves, you understand.
With Silverstone, Pencelli and Kempenrit all looming, the summer is looking good.! I hope everyone had as good a day as I did.

Phew!!!!!!!!!!!! what a scorcher!! Where's the aftersun??? Hope that you all got home safely! I counted up 22 or so F/TF's and 7 that went out on track - just as well the others didn't turn up, else we would of struggled for space!! Great mixture of cars, lots of GT40's etc etc Hope that you all enjoyed it, and thankyou to you all for making it what it was (especially all those that travelled a long way to join us!) Looking forward to seeing pics soon!

Many thanks Colin for organising another great day at CC. Three blessings for the day - great venue and weather, great cars, and great company.
Super drive home cross country. Sod the M4/A34 - even using them this morning they weren't quick enough for us to reach The Compass before you had all pushed off. Instead we joined a long line of Jags and Lotus/Caterham 7s for the journey in!
Hit several short bursts of rain on way home, but it was easier and drier to just keep going!
Brain has faded from too much sun - what is HCHDC?

Thanks Colin for organising a great day out ~ summer has officially arrived as I now have brown arms!! Caught a light shower a few miles from home, glad we got home when we did as there was a long heavy shower 30 minutes after we put the car in the garage.
Alistair, we were trying to work out HCHDC too! Decided that HDC was Hood Down Club, but couldn't fathom HC!

Not far off Nigel HCHDC stands for " Hard Core Hood Down Crew" ;D just a little something from last few years between some suitably vetted with photo proof on Rover-Org F/TF forum members who has had hood down and got a drenching,or ihood down in bitter cold or snow etc, ha ha
Great day out, did anyone see Colin? ha ha
im'e burn to a crisp, we had really good show of cars and well done every one for making this a fab day out, Dave

HUGE thanks to Colin.....What a GREAT day! I had a fabulous time...! Huge fun, lots of lovely lovely F/TFers...gorgeous weather....lots of laughter......and one wet James......What more could I ask for?! Had a great drive home, followed Alistair to the Reybridge turn-off and then was stuck for 10 minutes behind a bloke in a Merc who thought it would be funny to CONSTANTLY wash his windscreen and soak me in the process as we were crawling in slow traffic from Lacock to Melksham....grrrrrrrrrrrrr! Looking forward to seeing the piccies of the vast array of cars present....! Alistair, how much do you want for 'THAT' photo....? Used notes in a brown paper bag??? As for HCHDC....yes, I am a member of the HCHDC (logo on my windstop!) and yes, I know I arrived with my hood up, but I drove through ten minutes of rain topless with my wipers on full before getting home.... and for those who wish to know more re HCHDC heres a link! www.hchdc.co.uk/

Thanks Dave and Andie for explaining HCHDC ~ think we might qualify if I dig out some of the photos from a snow storm up a mountain in Norway from a couple of years bcak!

glad you all enjoyed! Time goes so fast when you enjoy yourself! Sorry I missed most of you, by the time I got back from walking the perimiter of the circuit, there were only a handfull of peeps left! HCHDC - does driving through the night from Bristol to the Dutch / German border count? left at 11pm, hood down, arrived, stood at bar by 11am, beer in hand - forgot to mention the hailstones the size of golfballs whilst on the M4! Woke my mate up who was fast alseep, he just put a pair of shorts over his head and went back to sleep - just wish I could of taken a pic and driven at the same time - the car? '69 Mk2 Vitesse conv (Triumph) tuned to 135 horses instead of the normal 104. So much tourque from the old straight six motor, that used to growl at you through 2 virtually straight through pipes - Happy Day's indeed!!

remember remeber 15th September - MG Race Day at Castle Combe - I shall try and get us a clubstand within the circuit instead of last years out of circuit reserved parking area - who knows, we may have a new TF with us as well as, if they are launched by then!!
