Hello everyone!!! Thank you for your superb company over lunch today! I am SO glad that after dosing up with painkillers I was able to join you! Great piccies Andrew and Chris! Lord, I never recognised the back of me in that pic with my 'new' black hair!!!!! LOL! James, hope you realised I had a change of mind re my return route - thought I'd avoid the A303 and do the more scenic A30 back to Shaftesbury via Stockbridge and Salisbury. Have to say that the drive home was far FAR better weather-wise than our horrendous rain-soaked trip down this morning! A superb turn-out (was it 11 or 12 cars/20 people?), a really nice pub and best of all, a truly lovely bunch of people to spend a few hours with! Thank you all for making the effort on a rain-drenched Sunday! x

Spike, that was dry. I have never driven in such heavy rain in my life. All traffic slowed to below 40 on the drive there (and this on astretch of road where 80mph is considered SLOW!), the rain was just sheeting down and was coming across my windows in a way I have never seen before, wipers on fastest speed and still no way to see where we were going...plus extremely flooded roads and even a flooded garage where I filled up and met James. Honest, it was almost as dark as night the rainclouds were so bad...those photos were taken in the sunny weather before we left the pub.

It sounds like a typical summers day up here in Yorkshire that luv. Im glad you got there and back okay,as it sounds awfull driving condtions and a great turn out considering the weather!. Nice piccies of the line up there Rich thank you.

Thanks for organising the lunch Andrea, nice to see such a good turnout of F'ers and the parking is getting pretty good too! Thanks all for the pix - saves taking the camera don't it. Seems us locals had a relatively dry day out. If you want, and if it's dry day next time we visit this pub, I can take you in convoy for a little drive up on the downs for a walk around Butser Hill....? Cheers Pete

It was an EXCELLENT turn out, Pete! I was so happy that so many lovely F/TFers braved the weather and some drove SO far for a few hours at the Seven Stars! Brilliant!
As for your suggestion - absolutely brilliant idea! Love that one....a must for the first meeting in warmer/drier weather! Thank you Pete, x.

Great lunch meet with a brilliant turnout on a lousy day. Like the pics. The company is the icing on the F ownership cake. ;D After lunch returned home, packed car, then back to Pompey for the ferry to St Malo. 3 sunny days with occasional showers, mainly at night. Lots of coastal lanes, with panoramic views, driven - ideal F country! Car proved a real head turner in the towns and villages. Note to self - F not suitable for 'booze cruising'!! Now back in a wet horrible Blighty. Can't possibly take the car to the Xmas natter in current filthy state, so may have to wash it in the rain. Sad init! See you all at the next SCRR natter. That was Sunday 24th at your place, wasn't it Andie (Hope you are feeling better and will be OK for your time in The Doghouse)

Glad you had such a fab time, Alistair!
Re Doghouse - not sure now that I'm well enough to do the drive alone (see main Doghouse thread). If I can, I will see you there...if not, well, have fun people.
