A few of us are free to meet for a drink on Thursday night - not a 'planned' meet as such, just a 'let's go and have a drink with a few mad MGF/TFers' sort of evening!!!
We're meeting at the Half Moon at Shaftesbury. Its on the first roundabout coming into Shaftesbury on the A30 (either from Blandford via the scenic route past Compton Abbas airfield or from Salisbury/Wilton direction). This is the same roundabout that has the Royal Chase Hotel on the other side of it! The pub has recently been refurbished and although I've never been there I have been told they do a decent enough supper (you should be okay there Alistair!).
We should be there from around 7.30pm - ish!

I will be there, but as I will probably come straight from my office I may be in the Z not TF. I will turn up on condition I don't get a bo**ocking over that the way I did over the HT on Sunday!!!

And Jay wasn't even able to make Sunday, you got off lightly I've been lurking in the background - why bother posting to the hilt when the commitee 'aint interested'?? - I'm here for ME!!!!
Just call me Jay 'HT' Sheppard!!!!! - thinking of changing it by deed poll???
So Alistair - you have one of them 'things'? Each to thier own - everyone's entitled to do wotever they flippin well want to thier cars/wotever and i'm not gonna say it's right or wrong or indifferent - the one thing I will say is:
"I HATE HARD TOPS"........and that's my presonal feelings and this will never change, well not for the foreseable future anyways. The day i feel the need to fit a solid roof to my baby is the day I will prob chop her in for an Alfa or a TT. And NO............you will never ever see me in a CC!!!!! I'd rather fill the boot with subs than 'stick the roof' in there.
Rant over - now go fit yur HT's everyone!!!!!

Whoops, forgot to add.................Sorry I couldn't make it sunday, erm yesterday!!!!! Tyres are ALL illegal and the new front ones have finally showed thier rubbery black faces today - the other 2 have been sat in my lounge since last thurs!!!! - yep, you heard right - they're sat in my lounge next to the tele. Gotta wizz round a few local tyre places after I finish work tomorrow and see about getting them fitted - Oh the joy to be able to go round roundabouts and still be facing the right way on the exit - should be interesting. At least I got the full wear out of my GDS2's - hope the Toyo's are as good, or pos better.

Just returned from the impromptu 'meet'....a line up of four F/TFs and an MG ZTT...a huge amount of laughter....and I even got my 21 year old son to buy me a drink - wow...!!! Thanks for a great evening guys! So glad I could get there in the end. Thanks for the 'naughty' book, Alistair! And Chris, I still have a vision of you clutching onto your parents' garage roof during the storm of 1987 like a character from the Wizard of Oz...theres no place like home....! Dave....still consider you an honorary SCRR.....thanks for bringing your mad friend Duncan along...even though he drives a Mercedes AMG he's really quite acceptable and VERY funny...! And James, you were a true darling as always....love you lots! A great evening with lovely people! x

Great meet folks, and thanks to Dave for providing the excuse. Dave - Membership of SCRR is a bit like playing football for your country - you can qualify on the parent/grandparent/cousin 4x removed principle. The over-riding requirement is ownership of an F. So you qualify, and if Andie says you are an honorary member, you don't argue! Especially as I understand she comes from Kent Let us know when you are next visiting your parental units and perhaps we can repeat the exercise, and I'm sure Duncan will be more than welcome to join us. Going home we had a mini convoy as far as Salisbury, Chris leading and I think it was James behind me. Don't suppose Andie will be on the forum for a while now she has a book of men to review!

Hmmmm......naughty Alistair!!! Of course I'm on the forum! I'm Big Sister...I'm watching you! If you persist in the Kent comments I may have to punish you though...... And Dave, Duncan is MORE than welcome at any further meets.....I like him....LOL! And I'm sure a Mercedes AMG ('a' MG???!!! ) can be hidden in any carpark without too much trouble!
