Hows about these groups?? 1) Slow, lets take all the time in the world to get there. (would suit me some days) 2) Bit faster please, like watching paint dry. 3) Thats more like it - vrmm vrmm, motorway speeds. 4) Bit too fast for some - little bit of trouble keeping up speeds. 5) foot flat on the floor - sod any possible speed limits and cameras - 'I don't need my licence for my job' type speeds - Count me out. All in good humour of course - no sarcasm or digs meant. lol IF,it was possible to do this and everyone was up for it,we could have the cool "official names" as in say....direct route, fast cruise, cruise, etc. ...and unofficially no doubt have some pretty bad expressions. which I wont repeat here But it all depends on whether it is acually possible to organise this in without it putting EVEN MORE work on those responsible as if they dont have enough to do,and also if anyone else thinks its a good idea or not. So its still in the idea put forward zone.

Having done the whole route via the handbook, some of us only just about got there in time for the meal. Then I missed me 'pudding' and tore up the autoroute to meet the Ferry. Still had 'wind' when I was checking in - belching at a port official doesn't go down that well - LOL ;D ;D ;D

Spike, I appreciate where you are coming from but if you are on a trip and working to fairly tight schedules then the tourist convoy would have to leave before anyone else and in certain instances even the day before. This year at the Kemprenet they would have had to leave before the dinner and then the tourists would only have had a motorway view. A bit like driving up the M1 at 50mph. I see what you mean.I never thought of that.Like I said,it was just an idea thats all and thanks for the input. From the sound of it,to me,it sounds like it would be pretty much an impractical idea to put into force. Oh well...it sounded good on paper lol

I always thought that the final evening run to the ferry was going to be a bit rushed. We knew that a meal was arranged at a site about 170 miles from the ferry; and we knew how long that would normally take. I've had enough of those runs over the years and decided, as did some others, to spend Sunday night in Belgium and have a touring trip back to Dunkirque.
I can recommend that solution to anybody who can spare the time. For me, the idea of a trip to somewhere like the Kempernrit - 120 miles to ferry, ferry over, 150 miles to dinner and bed, 40 miles to start point, 70 mile tulip run, evening meal, 170 mile to ferry, 120 miles home - is no real pleasure. Far nicer to descend on Dover on Friday evening, cross over on Saturday morning, touristy bit to overnight stay, rally next day, relaxed meal, back to hotel and then pleasant trip home on Monday.
But we all have finite time and money and must do what best works for us.

My pleasure!!!! Should make the evening go that little bit faster - LOL ;D
lol....along with me enjoying the Stones concert tonight for free too! ;D Sorry for the OT excursion,I think I shouldve started a new thread re convoys,oh well I know for next time. From what Ive read so far,I think the organisers have way too much on their plate as it is,just organising the event. However,I do think for an event of say a two hour road run or something like that,we could sort it out between ourselves either on the forum or on the day itself. That way,we can join up and convoy in tiny groups of like minded, and it doesnt add any more work onto the reps....if theres no time limit ofcourse. As for a big event, theres Johns excellent advice above (hope the migraine wears off soon John ,and maybe it MIGHT be possible when we are given our groups,we could come to some arrangement between ourselves at the time possibly,we'd have to see at the time. Anyway sorry for the OT.

Nigel, my comment about winging was not aimed at you or Spike but at those who attended the trip and who felt unhappy with the organisation but said nothing at the time, when something could have been done about it, and instead waited till they got home before expressing their displeasure. Not saying that this is aimed at me!!!! but, if it is, I had a damn good moan on the ferry and not on the forum 'once i got home'. And if I do have a complaint I will always air it in person rather than 'taking shelter' behind a keyboard!!!I really don't want this to carry on as everybody else seemed to have enjoyed the weekend but who did you have a damn good moan at on the ferry, you never said one word to me ?. You seemed to have taken it out personally on me and the drivers of the cars that left you behind, both on Saturday and Sunday and then let rip upon your return, when challenged by others you backed off, now you are starting up again, you have even started a similar vein on the swmgf about speeding convoys at the C2C, don't ruin that event before it's even started please. If anybody else was unhappy about any of the events on the Kempenrit this year please say so, we will ensure it is corrected before next year, if it is deemed that it was not managed properly, I for one will stand down and not do it again. For the sake of the forum and those that enjoy it on here please keep your comments to fact and not fantasy, we try to keep this a very friendly place to be, you should be able to enjoy your time on here and on events organised by the Register, views such as above really make people want to leave as it becomes too personal as happens on other forums. We welcome people's views and debate but there has to be tolerance of others ideas, views, skills and idionsyncrasies.

I really don't want this to carry on So why are you? - I thought this thread was vearing off onto a more freindly and funny note??? who did you have a damn good moan at on the ferry, you never said one word to me ?. I had a moan at Steve - you were out of ear shot. You seemed to have taken it out personally on me and the drivers of the cars that left you behind, both on Saturday and Sunday and then let rip upon your return, when challenged by others you backed off, now you are starting up again Every time I was left behind, all I saw was the back end of a certain 'Bittersweet' disappearing into the disatance and a huge roar from the tail pipes - not the kind of sound you expect to hear from a fellow F'er who's supposed to be keeping you in their mirror!!!.(you're personal quote for a good convoy) As I've said previously, I will not post anything on this forum that I would not say, or have said to their face, so this 'backing off' lark is a loud of twodle. I thought this thread was going back to a more jovial nature but I suppose someone always has to start the bad vibes off again and when I feel this is getting too personal I will always defend my corner. you have even started a similar vein on the swmgf about speeding convoys at the C2C, don't ruin that event before it's even started please. I had made a few suggestions, along with several others both on the SWMGF forum and on here, with regards to 'taking it easy' through the beautifull welsh countryside and I have no intentions of ruining it for myself or any others - do you??? ........I for one will stand down and not do it again. Now that's just being petty!!!! You're input into the Kemp was invaluable and I thoroughly enjoyed the event - albeit, an extremely 'fast and furious' weekend (no pun intended) For the sake of the forum and those that enjoy it on here please keep your comments to fact and not fantasy, we try to keep this a very friendly place to be, you should be able to enjoy your time on here and on events organised by the Register, views such as above really make people want to leave as it becomes too personal as happens on other forums. Forums are for comments from all sides of a 'debate' aren't they? I have a PM box and email - why does everyone else have to read this as well??? This is personal, and as I previously stated - this thread was going back to 'trad' funny ways of the forum and now it's been resurected again - I for one will not lay back and take it and I for one was trying to make light of this thread. Winge over from me for now - Is there anything more to say on the matter??? added: now I must go have a coffee and rest my fingers - day off!!!!!!! not for some it seems.
This was supposed to be links to the photos not general moaning about things relating to convoys etc, there was enough of that on the other thread which is why this one was created.
